An authoritative and thorough account of the air operations during the Yom Kippur War, from the Arab point of view. The book is an excellent addition to the previous 5 volumes of "Arab MiG`s" and covers one of the most interesting and the most controversial moments in the history of the Middle East.It`s the first research, based on recently declassified materials in Egypt, as well as in other Arab nations. The interesting comparison between the Israeli and the Arab sources goes on, just like in the previous five volumes. Every aviation and military history buff should decide for themselves where the truth lies. In my opinion, Tom Cooper and his colleagues have done an excellent job!

it is understandable that some readers feels this vol has some " internal inconsistency" issue.but people should realize before Arab Migs came out, there were very few English published works on topic of middle-east air battles has any worthy Arabian military materiel within content. Arab Migs is big step forward for military history publish establishment( western nations) to start to reveal information from "the other side of hill"

volime 6 part 2 continues the revisionist history of Arab air forces vs. Israel. As in the previous volumes established views are turned on their head and history is rewritten. Unfortunately the authors seem to take all Syrian and Egyptian claims as gospel while dismissing everything Israeli. Aviation historians have always taken victory claims with a grain of salt but these gentlemen take one sidedness to a new level. What matters worse is the internal inconcsistency within the book. Authorship by committee has its drawback. Read the series, enjoy the great aircraft profiles and rarely seen pictures and then explore the other side and make up your own mind.

A very well documented narrative of the Arab air war of the Kippur war , though sometimes it seems a bit messy as far as the lay-out of the pages is concerned . Besides some captions under the photos may be subject to questionning since some of them have had other contents in other books. Who is telling the historic truth in the end? Nevertheless I can recommend this informative book without hesitation.

Describe la guerra aérea desde el punto de vista árabe pero da una información fragmentada. Falta una visión global y un análisis más profundo de las armas utilizadas, con sus ventajas e inconvenientes así como una descripción detallada de las diferencias en entrenamiento, moral, ethos y tácticas empleadas por las partes enfrentadas.Se limita a una mera recogida de datos a través de entrevistas a algunos de los protagonistas.Asimismo se echa en falta más mapas y gráficos de cada una de las batallas o momentos relevantes.Es una pena. Podía haber sido un gran libro, pero se queda a medias.

This is a very interesting book to have for anyone interested in the history of the 1973 war. It contains a lot of new data from the Arab air forces perspectives. The details are amazing. The pictures are awesome. I recommend it.
