Contents better than binding
The contents are excellent for those beginning to transition from the first one or two method books and will keep the student busy and interested for a couple of years at least. The ordering, chronologically by composer, means dipping in here and there is the way to select pieces and let the first attempts indicate the difficulty for the player. At an early stage the difficulties for one player will be very different from those of another so ordering by difficulty isn't practical. There is little in the book that should be unfamiliar to any aspiring pianist and more advanced students can make excellent use of it for increasing their musical vocabulary while working on other material. The work doesn't lie flat and many tricks will need to be employed to keep the book open on the piano. If a stationers is able to cut it to apply spiral binding it would be a valuable change.

Excited about this book
I purchased this book for piano - primarily as a step up from my beginner stuff. It's more for intermediate ability, but I wanted it anyway, as it was recommended by a number of top piano teachers. It's a good target to aim for as a beginner.

Misplaced my old one; had to have a new one
I love the pieces in this book, so when I misplaced my old copy, I was so happy to easily find that I could still buy it.
