Great Battery Storage
This is a fantastic little battery storage device. I use it on the molle webbing of my range gear and it’s light, secure and weatherproof. Fantastic little gizmo that keeps spare batteries close at hand.

One Major Issue
Solid product and I'm sure it's fine for 99% of everyone who has purchased one but it has one MAJOR issue for anyone that intends to store AAs and use this in the field: NOISE.AA batteries rattle around in these things like nobody's business. They're super loud and it's up to you to figure out how to silence them. I ended up using a little gorilla tape and some rubber o-rings.Not the biggest deal in the world and it likely doesn't apply to 99% of people out there but when it's 0300 and you need to replace the batteries in your PVS-14s just remember you will need macguyver some battery silencers for this piece of kit.

Odd shape
I understand the purpose of the shape holding the batteries inside, but it’s weird. Pretty sure I’ll never get the bottom CR123 out ever again but the other two will be there when I need them!

Great idea, but slightly overpriced
Only thing I disliked was the price. I mean, yeah I still bought 2 of them, but perhaps a little cheaper, please.

Works as Advertised
After about 4 years of use, here is an UPDATE review. My Thrym continues to serve me well. It has gotten wet (rain) several times, and protected the batteries perfectly. I've had the occasional battery go bad inside the Thrym (not the container's fault, obviously), but the Thrym contained the leaked acid and my other items, including electronics stored-with, were not impacted in the slightest. The problem with the Thrym Vault TODAY is that it is simply over-priced for what you get. However, I've reduced my rating from 5 Stars down to 4 Stars, only because the PRICING is out-of-whack compared to the market and competitors. $19.95 is quite expensive for this "vault," and there are now products that do as well for far less. The MAGA container, for example, is far larger and just as waterproof, and already sells for about $1.00 less -- and I expect that price to drop further. So, I"d advise our friends at Thrym to reduce their prices by AT LEAST 25%, if they want to stay competitive. In fact, I believe pricing at about $12.95 or less would be appropriate, and likely lead to a huge surge in sales!!Additional Tip: get some blue painter's tape from the hardware store, and use small pieces to cover the ends of batteries you're storing for a long time. That will reduce inadvertent contacts between batteries, and thereby reduce charge drainage during storage. It should also reduce--but not eliminate--incidence of battery failure and the resultant leakage of acid. And finally, it should eliminate any rattling noises -- which are already minimal.Best of luck!

Fit too tight
With cr123 batteries the first one you put in won’t come back out the second one you have to slap out and the top battery rattles

Great water-resistant container
I like this product. It holds either 3 CR123s or protected/unprotected 16650 and single CR123. This model will not fit an 18650. I like that I can see the contents in the clear model of this product. Plastic is hard with some flex, and should be able to stand up to moderate use. The design keeps it out of the way when attached to webbing, so not terribly worried about impacts on the product. Not the cheapest battery holder, but is made in US & fills a niche need better than cheaper & disposable options
