Excellent taste and texture
While basmati is the well-known Indian variety, Sona Masoori is just as popular as basmati in India. Yes, there is a reason for this. Not to get into the 'which one is better' wars, they are just different. This is a smaller size, medium grain, cooks in a fluffy way whether soaked or not, with a refined texture and subtle nutty flavour. It can of course do all kinds of Indian things, but is also good simply with a little unrefined coconut oil or a gentler EVOO, nutritional yeast, and salt. Chopped cilantro too? Oh boy!

Old and stale
The rice was smelling old and I was unable to return. Not sure how we would use 3 bags (~30 lbs) of old stock

The best rice I’ve eaten ever!
I like that it is hand pounded like they did in the old world. Therefore, more nutrients are left with the finished rice. It tastes what rice should be. I grew up in a third world country where rice was hand pounded that’s why I can tell the difference I will continue to use this brand. It is a healthy rice! I love it! It smells and tastes good. It is very fine too.

Rice was very good
The rice was very good, at least the batch I got, this is not western rice, this does have a delicate grasslike flavor. It smells a bit like healthy dirt when you smell it out of the bag. None of these things are bad in natural food. But if you don’t want your food to smell and taste like nature, buy white rice, and stick to your supermarket. The flavor in the 10 lbs I received was good across the board.

Healthy product, the price is almost double. I could get the same for half price in local grocery store

Dead red bugs in one of the bags
Not sure why this happens but one of the bags that we got had dead red bugs. We will would appreciate if we can get replacement for the one bag. For the price for the bag all these things should have been already taken care of

Listen to the bad reviews. Tastes like grass.
Tastes like grass. Like a lot. Wish I listened to the 1 stars before buying. Figured they just got a bad batch but then I must have too, if that were the case. Either way this tastes STRONGLY of grass and I can't get past it. No return policy so I'm stuck with it. Don't buy, just get another brand.
