Easily Broken - Bike stolen
This Lock was broken off by somehow bending it until the locking mechanism failed. There is no large damage to the lock which makes me believe that this did not require a big effort.Next to my stolen bike was a much more valuable bike locked with a similar u-lock from abus and they haven't been able to break it. I suggest to spend the extra pounds for a higher quality lock.

be warned - check your framesize
I was getting fed up going to the shops with a Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit. They weigh a ton and they're impossible to carry easily. While I wouldn't leave my bike in the West End with anything less I'd come to the view that something you could carry on the frame would be ideal for a couple of hours in the supermarket. It looked good enough, but really, you'd need a frame about twice the size of mine to find anywhere to put it. On the bracket it stands proud by about 40mm. For example on a down tube the effective length of the lock is across a theoretical rectangle encompassing all the sticky out bits. You could fit it to a Brompton and that's about it. I should have measured more carefully before I bought it but the little diagram showing all the places they thought it could go seduced me. This isn't a comment on its security features but on the feature that sets it apart.

Doesn't fit on the frame
The lock is much bigger than I thought, it doens't fit anywhere on the frame. The instructions show it fitting in several places, but nope. way too big for seatpost, too big for frame gets in way of waterbottle etc.i just put it on the pannier though so no big deal, it's pretty sturdy. bolt cutters would go through it like butter though. this is NOT gold secure. so i wouldn't recommend for long duration use. but for locking outside shops and cafes etc for short durations it'll deter the opportunist thief certainly. if you're leaving your bike for many hours outside work etc for example then you need to invest in a much more expensive lock and make sure it's gold certified secure.i use a smaller, mini d-lock with a tamper alarm to lock the back wheel to the frame. i use this lock to lock back wheel and frame to a solid object. and then i use a chain lock around the front wheel and frame to the same solid object. i also have a tail-light that doubles as a tamper alarm.needless to say my bike's never been stolen.

Poor
The bracket that attaches the lock to the bicycle does not work. It cannot be attached to a frame as the bolts cannot be fully tightened. Also the actual lock cannot be released from the bracket recepticle once attached. The act of trying to release it destroyed part of the actual lock. This all means that wherever I go I now have to carry the heavy lock in a bag or rucksack because I cant attach it to my bike – rubbish item. There are so many other locks to choose from. I wish I'd chosen one of them.

Safe as houses!
Bought this lock due to my previous bicycle being stolen (they used bolt cutters). This D-Lock and cable are a completely different proposition. If they can get through this cable or indeed hack the D-Lock then they are welcome to my 'new' bicycle with my blessing. A message to those would be thieves "Good Luck!"
