Works for volleyball with some help
Tried these on their own for volleyball, too thin, insufficient. However, they work great as a base with a more traditional knee pad on top. They provide a little bit of cushion to help, and prevent the sliding of the larger knee pads.

A must for baseball players who slide
My 15-yo son always had a scraped up knee during baseball season that he kept tearing open over and over again despite bandages or turf tape. This knee pad finally put a stop to that! He does say he has to adjust it every so often, but he says it is comfortable and never plays without it. I just throw it in the wash with his uniform and air-dry and it comes clean and has kept its elasticity.

Works for basketball
My female student athlete loved these for basketball. Much better than the lumpy basketball pads.

Fits good and offers good protection
The Mizuno Slider Kneepad is exactly that. It's meant to go more around/on the knee and upper shin as opposed to the calf, which is what I really wanted. When I slide feet first I tend to scrape up my shin a little more than my knee. There really is no exact way to wear it (which is nice, but may be confusing for people). So just slide it on and position it where you feel you need the protection. As I said I scratch up my shin more and I prefer to not diminish my speed, so I try not to cover my knee with it. As such, I keep it just below my knee (and I turn it a little to the outside of my leg) It stays up and it fits well. The padding on the inside (there really should be a picture of the inner padding) does the job and it really saves me from going home with dirt scrapes on my shins/knees.Others stated it’s tight right out of the package. For bigger girls/guys that may be the case, but the fabric seems to have a stretch quality. As with any sleeve type item it’s meant to be tight and stretch to eventually fit any leg shape/size. I’m 5’4 130 lbs with large muscular calfs. It fits fine and I definitely don’t feel restricted in it. If I cover the knee it fits exactly as a McDavid knee sleeve may fit. I was able to use it right out of the package. It softens up every time I use. It’s great.Others docked this negatively for only being one, not a pair. Well, buy two then and the math is the exact same. If you think you’ll slide on one leg more, get one. If your all about switching up the legs then buy two. Don’t knock on the product if you don’t read the description or don’t do the research ahead of time.Overall, I’m happy with the buy and would buy again.

Perfect for pickleball
After twenty years of volleyball, diving and rolling come very naturally to me. Now I play pickleball, and my nickname is "dustmop" because I'm still diving and rolling and generally putting my knee down on low digs. Despite all my training and practice, I'd still get scrapes on my knees sometimes. My old set of pads worked OK on indoor surfaces, but on asphalt friction would still get transferred to my knee through the material so I had quite a collection of scrapes. Since I got these pads, not one. Knees are almost back to normal, after maybe a hundred contacts on both surfaces. The inner lining provides an extra layer that will move before your skin has to, and the fact that it's smooth means that even in the worst case it's better than the rough outer material. Whoever designed this clearly knew what's needed.

Improvement over old models
I've purchased many of these over the years, and this model is better than the prior which was for a specific knee (R or L). The slider is tight and remains in place even after sliding, and doesn't ride up or down after running around. It provides sufficient coverage to prevent most scrapes on those cement fields. I will buy these many more times, hopefully, but not because they wear out fast. They hold up, but I have found the bottom elastic is usually the first to begin losing its rigidity, and becoming a little loose. I am usually able to get about 100+ washes out of them before I consider getting a back up.Tip: Air dry inside-out to help it last longer.

Leg Saver!
I have bought many of these. I play softball and do a lot of sliding. This item has saved me from tearing up my legs. I wear one on both legs. They stay in place and do not sag or fall down as I am running. Great product and will continue to buy. Thanks!

Pretty good!
These knee pads did not slip at all despite an intense grappling practice! I was surprised because they are “one fit” but there was no slippage. I like the type and cut of the padding, but not 100% the placement. It sat a little too high on the knee, leaving less cushioning below. Overall, good value for what it is. Decent cushioning, and not too bulky.
