I love my new fireplace
I love my new fireplace! I painted the insert with a black oven paint and changed out the single burner for an H-burner. I had a professional come in the install the H-burner and he said I'd only need about 30 pounds of fireglass. When I did an online calculator for how much fireglass I needed, it said 52 pounds. I ordered 4 ten pound bags half in 1/2 inch and half in 1/4 inch, however I only used 3 of them just like the installer said. I used twenty pounds of 1/2 inch and 10 pounds of 1/4 inch. It looks plenty full to me. I'm going to use the other bag and put them in a vase or something. The 1/4 inch looked a little more yellow than the 1/2 so I'm wondering if they sent me a platinum bag rather than titanium. However, I loved the look because it gave it a little softer vibe. I wish I had done this transformation many years ago and can't wait for winter to use it regularly.

Beautiful!
We got the cut reflective copper, and it looks 100X better than the smooth, yellowish-clear glass that came with our fire table. Just be sure to wash it first and let it dry completely before use. It comes covered in dust. Pro tip: buy a pair of safety gloves to handle this stuff!

Beautiful glass, but better size screening is needed by manufacturer
Beautiful color -Caribbean blue. I do wish there were more size options. It would seem for the typical propane fire pits sold at the big box stores , that it would need about 13-15 lbs of glass. Considering this isn't cheap, I know have to purchase more than I'll use.Otherwise, the stone looks gorgeous. Lava rock is lame compared to these beauties. While most of the pieces are indeed about 1/2", there is more than just a few 1/4" and smaller pieces. I wish they screened and sorted the glass better.Overall it looks great, but I'll need to buy more and I'm hoping I'll get more of the sizes of glass that I order, and not 20% undersized.

Think twice...
These are beautiful..... added them to our new firepit.... here's the issue - seems the glass is popping/chipping out of the pit. At first we thought we maybe just missed a couple pieces. This morning there were shards all over the ground below the gas firepit.....Am I using these incorrectly? Anyone else have similar issues....?I'm shutting the pit off, and then I'll suck them all up in my shop vac and throw them in the trash. Not worth sending back for a refund...

Beautiful glass but amount of glass calculator was way off... Only needed 20 pounds when calculator indicated 36 pounds.
I purchased this in replacement of the lava rock that was included with my fire pit. First off let me say that the fire glass calculator I used and I tried several all coming up with the same amount I would need was considerably off. My fire pit is round and has a area that the glass would be laid in as 17 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep. The calculators indicated I needed 36 pounds of glass, so I actually ordered a 20 pound and a 10 pound figuring if the 6 pounds I would be light I could always use some of the lava rock underneath to take up space that would never be seen. However 20 pounds was PERFECT. I have to send the 10 pounds back as I never opened it. According to the instructions the gas burner should be covered about 1 inch and the ignitor area kept clear. If I added additional glass the burner would be buried more then 1 inch and I would have to mound it up as it would spill out onto the outer ring surrounding the pit area.. Not sure how they calculate it but you would be better off getting less and order more if needed. Funny thing was I weighed the lava rock and only had roughly 6 pounds of lava rock. Now I understand there is a weight difference and volume difference between the 2 but just to give an idea how much lava rock my pit came with compared to glass needed. Now as far as the glass goes its beyond what I imagined. I got it in time for my wife's birthday party over Memorial Day weekend. We got several compliments on it and I can say at night with the reflection it looks like running water among the flame, so very cool. The glass has no sharp edges and is beautiful. You cannot go wrong with this stuff and highly recommend getting the reflecting glass. Mind you basically half of each piece of glass has a mirror on it, thats how it reflects.. Not sure how that will hold up but so far no discoloration, no burning, cracking of the mirror side etc...So well worth upgrading your fire pit with this glass.

Enhance your patio fire pit with this beautiful fire glass
Was skeptical about buying fire glass for our recently built fire pit, however this one was on sale (still pricey, even on sale). I wasn't sure about the color or how much I would need, or how it would look! Was it really going to look that much better than the black pumice which was lots cheaper?Wow!! I am so glad I ordered it!!!!!! It makes the fire pit spectacular, day or night! It sparkles and is a perfect color for my patio. Warning: People with small children should be aware that there are all sorts of warnings with the fire glass about it being very sharp and can cut, also about it popping if wet. We have not experienced any problems and we are empty nesters with grandkids old enough to be careful. It looks beautiful and the service was terrific. They delivered it the next day! Would definitely recommend...

Very beautiful in my firepit!
Edit: I'm changing my review after looking at other fire glass. This is a typical size and, although it is pretty tiny, it's normal for 1/4 inch. Also, now that I'm using it, I think the few sharp edges and shards are also typical. They are easily strained out. This product is as described. Note - I had to order a second bag (10 lbs total) for a foot square.Original review (3 star) : This stuff is tiny! It is sharp although it looks like it may have been tumbled a little. Be sure to filter out the tiny shards before using so it doesn't clog your burner.

Not what I expected, terrible customer service
Not a bad quality product, the pieces were too small and it prevented my fire pit from lighting. We had to return it.This review is primarily about the return process. I've been ordering things off of Amazon for 10 years, this is the first time I've had to drive it to an "Amazon return center." This wouldn't bother me normally, but the closest one is 24 miles from my house. So Amazon dropped the ball on this one, forcing me to drive 50 miles, completely out of my way just to get to CSULB to drop the package off. Not happy.

Arrived promptly (sooner that expected), the pieces are varied in size, and some are clear cobalt while others are cobalt with one reflective side. Very happy.
