Q: Mine just arrived and it is bent to the point it is unusable. Will it flatten out by itself, or do I return it?

Mine was nice and flat. I don't know if a bent mat will flatten out to a point of being completely flat. Does it look damaged? I would ask for replacement just to be sure. I like this mat. It is very durable and solid.

To 29”x41” inches and also has metric on both sides

Q: Is this mat flexible enough so I can roll it to put in my suitcase to take where I live now?

No you can't roll it . You could fold it over in half in the shape of of the letter "U" in place in a larger suitcase and pack other stuff inside and not waste suitcase space. Will bend enough to shape the letter "U"
