To start with the good, the design of this tumbler is awesome. Its great to brew tea in the tumbler itself and allow for proper flow of the tea leaves to enhance the flavor of the the tea. The only complaint about the design was that the top lid doesn't fit on the bottom part of the tumbler. Not a bad issue, but it would have been a nice added bonus.As much as I do like the design, I will not likely use it that much. The main reason, it is not dishwasher and microwave proof. I do understand the microwave issue and I would rarely stop using a tumbler for that reason. However, not being safe for dishwasher use does. I assumed that given the price and "high tempered glass" that this would have been dishwasher safe. Its quite disappointing that it was not. Also, it would have been nice to have that information available on the listing itself, so I am letting people know as it can be a fairly large issue for some.The other issue I have, is that the top clear part and the bottom do not appear to be made of the same material. The bottom feels like the glass, but the top feels like hard plastic instead. I cannot confirm that the top is plastic, but it definitely not made of the same materials or process as the bottom. I fear with continued use with boiling water, the plastic will crack or look less visually appealing. I cannot say this for sure, as I have not used it enough to know, but it does turn me away from using it often as well. Once again it is disappointing because I feel like I just spent $40 for an item I will rarely use.Overall, its not a bad idea, but poorly constructed. It simply does not seem worth the amount I spent, when I can get a higher quality glass tumbler from elsewhere that is half the price and dishwasher proof.

I purchased this for my Mother, for Christmas. The shipping was very quick however, it was poorly packaged. Somehow along the way it must have been dropped and the decorative box containing the set had cracked and chipped. When I opened that there was loose tea sifting around and the cardboard dividers that held the tea and the glass tumbler was ripped. I ended up buying my Mother something different as it looked like an item I had plucked out of a clearance bin at a bargain department store. I was very disappointed.
