Das Rheingold in Full Score (Dover Opera Scores)

Book was barely in “Fair” condition by any stretch of the imagination (pages folded under, dirty and worn) but was advertised as “Very Good”. Too much work to bother with so I plan to just keep it but felt the need to document the experience.

I've always loved Wagner's RING operas, and Dover does the world a great favor, imo, in making the full scores available in attractive, fairly low-cost editions.

Exactly what I wanted, came quite quickly.

Again, Keith Dillon has taken my words out of my mouth before they could be said! I second all he says about this opera unreservedly. The only reason I can't give this excellent reprint of Schott's first edition a full 5 stars is the same as for the equivalent reproductions of the scores of Siegfried (though there I compromised) and Götterdämmerung

Suberp. Clear and accurate. I have a bunch of Wagner scores, and this is as good as any of them. Wagner wouldn't be alf as much fun without the full scores.

Great Full Scores of operas are always difficult to review - I am just thankful that I can still see the small print.It's Wagner and a full orchestral score. An Orchestral score on high quality paper would be out of this world and wonderful to own, but it would be very expensive to print and as a consequence to buy!Having said that he price is really ridiculously cheap. So no complaints. Sooooooooo get out your reading glasses boys and girls. But enjoy the experience!

Another masterpiece for which I've long wanted in full score. Previously, couldn't afford copies I'd found, even in 2nd hand bookshops.

Edizione economica, pensata per lo studio dell'opera nel suo insieme, utile per musicologi e appassionati. Unico difetto (a cui si sarebbe potuto ovviare con dieci minuti di lavoro in più): è una riproduzione in fac-simile dell'originale ottocentesca e non sono presenti gli indici (il che avrebbe completato il suo valore di partitura-studio). Consigliata

1A was soll man sagen, Qualität erster Güte halt. Was ist denn dass für ein bescheuertes Feature von Amazon, dass man neuerdings einen halben Roman schreiben muss, ehe man die Rezension abschicken darf. Muss ich mir jetzt einen copy & paste Text für meine Bewertungen anlegen?

このようなオペラのスコアを購入するなど、10年前ではほとんど思わなかった。クラシックが好きで、楽譜を見ながら聴くことも多いし、オーケストラでチェロも弾いているから、ミニチュアスコアはたくさん持っている。しかし、ワーグナーの歌劇の楽譜など、購入するつもりなどほとんどなかった。一つには高価であるからだし、このような大判の楽譜など、なかなか手に入らなかったということもある。スコアを見ながら、オペラを聴く。夢のような時間である。アマゾンにはいくら感謝してもしたりないくらいだ。
