EXCELLENT MANUSCRIPT FOR THE SERIOUS STUDENT OF PLATO
EXCELLENT MANUSCRIPT FOR THE SERIOUS STUDENT OF PLATO1. VALUABLE INTRODUCTIONS: these are very well done, and you should give them careful attention. Great for getting focused for the original document.2. DIALECTIC; DIALECTIC; DIALECTIC: he begins with the EUTHYPHRO: where Socrates is teaching “dialectics. Great dialogue on methodology3. THE “MENO”: is especially valuable for understanding Plato’s system of ideas.4. THE PHAEDO: gives you a great dialogue on the immortality of the soul.5. FRESHMAN YEAR: forget your intro course and “history-of-philosophy” course; now you examine the original documents; rich in content; nothing can match that discovery.6. 5 STARS “PLUS”; submitted 3-24-21.

Want to be a Lawyer?
This book covers all the angles and interpretations of words in a conversation. It's one hell of an exercise in that application.

Like owning a gold mine!
Owning this book is like receiving the deed to a gold mine. Gold is not on the surface but with a little digging and mining, nuggets of gold (wisdom) can be found everywhere.

Misleading title, should have researched better
This is not the complete works and as far as I'm concerned the title is false advertising. I should have taken it on myself to do more research but I stand by 1 star as not only is it not the complete works but it is not even the most important, notably missing the Symposium and the Republic. I would return if the price of shipping wasn't the cost of the book itself. A shame because the publishers do not deserve any money for this printing of a text, all of which can be legally obtained for free online. I wanted a print copy of what I already have from project Guttenburg.

NOT the complete works of Plato
This book is NOT the complete works of Plato. ‘The Republic’, perhaps the most important of all of his writing, is all together missing from this text. Terribly disappointing.

Not complete
Watch out! This is not the complete works, but only 7 dialogues. The book is actually pretty decent for the price, with 7 dialogues and lengthy introductions to each (about half the length of the dialogue itself usually). If it had just said "Plato: 7 dialogues" or something, I'd probably give it 4 or 5 stars, but I just find it extremely scummy to blatantly lie in the title. I actually find it quite funny that the book refers to a bunch of dialogues that are not even in the book, in the introductions. Also, the book is quite ugly IMO, but that's just preference (although the covers have some kind of rubber on them, so they feel quite nice when you hold it.
