I reported an issue on the A10 unit I ordered more than a year ago: the screen pad was not working properly. With the expired warranty, the customer service department asked me to provide a video to prove the problem, I said. Because the A10 was discontinued, they provided me with a new A50 replacement unit. It's great to deal with companies that take good care of customers.

I've ordered 2 of these and neither one came with the base plate that you need to mount the damn thing onto the door. Now I have a big hole in my front door and can't close it.

This is the fifth smart lock that I have owned and the second Ardwolf. I have a couple 'name brand' smart locks that I started using several years ago. Once you get used to using a smart locks and keyless locking system, using a regular keyed lock is hard to go back to. You really get used to not having to carry your keys. I have gradually been upgrading the locks on my front door, basement door, and a few other places. I was impressed enough with my first Ardwolf lock that I wanted a second.Keyless and smart lock's features vary wildly so look at this lock's features carefully to determine if it is the right lock for you. This lock does not have a Bluetooth or WiFi capability; that is fine for me since I don't mind programming the codes or fingerprints. They do sell a version of this that as WiFi capabilities. Also, the orientation of the handle cannot be changed. So, if you need a right-facing handle, you have to order the right-handle version.I installed this keyless lock on side door in to my garage. It is made of stainless steel and is somewhat water-proof so it can be in an area that could occasionally get moisture, but I don't recommend spraying it down. Installation and programming are easy. It fits in to an existing door lock hole.This Ardwolf smart lock lock has a lot of features. I primarily use the keyless keyless entry because I don't have to worry about remembering my house keys. You can set up permanent and temporary passcodes (up to 200 total). The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate. For people that have to remember too many numbers, you can set up the fingerprint reader And, finally, there is still the good old fashioned physical keys if you want to stay really old school; they key slot is nicely hidden on the front.It has a 'double code' feature where it requires two different access codes that must be entered within a short period of time. This might be useful in a higher security environment where you require two-person integrity in order to open a door. Of course, that means that it requires two people that each have their own code.If the batteries start to get low, it will remind via a red-light and alarm. If the power fails, you can use a USB cable temporarily in order to open the lock.For the price, this is a very good, reliable lock. This type of lock is not only great for your home, but for vacation rentals, AirBNBs, etc....

I have been trying out smart locks since 2013, when I had my first fingerprint lock, that was powered by AA batteries, and you had to make sure they had power, or you're screwed. I've since gone on to add a smart lock every couple years since then, so now I have a handful, and have enough locks to see their progression since 2013. My second lock added a numeric keypad option, in addition to a emergency power option if the battery dies out, I can use a sized D battery to power it. After that were the additions of phone apps and Bluetooth and NFC.What I like about this specific lock are the multiple features it provides. In addition to the fingerprint and numeric keypad entries, there is a offline option of using a spare key. This kind of defeats the purpose, so I just leave it at another house for the last kind of emergency. Because the other emergency entry when there is no power is to use a powerbank with a micro USB chord.I have noticed that as the years have progressed, the recognition time of the fingerprint has decreased. It is nowhere near ass accurate or fast as Touch ID, but it's getting there. My first lock had an accuracy rate of around 80%, meaning sometimes it didn't read my fingerprint even when I did it slowly and firmly, and it took about almost a second. Now I would say the accuracy rate is around 95%, and at about half a second long.It's a pretty big lock system, so make sure your door has the required space around the area. Thankfully, the hole that's needed to install is the same as a regular lock, so you don't have to do any additional carpentry work if you're just replacing the lock.Finally, although I got the non-WiFi version, there is that option as well. You would do it from the app you install and set up, by connecting it with your WiFi. Once connected, as long as you have the app already set up, you can remotely unlock it from anywhere around the world, as long as your phone is connected to the Internet of course.The price seems high, but for all the features you're getting, I think it is worth the investment. It also looks pretty cool when you bring a friend or someone over and unlock it with your fingerprint. Time to step into the 21st century with a 21st century lock.
