Delivered Even though Amazon says it’s running late
I received this brush direct from London three weeks ago Amazon still says it’s on its way. It’s a wonderful travel size brush and I love how it feels. Well crafted and well worth every penny.

Great bursh; very reasonable price!
I've only had this brush for about three weeks, and will update my rating/comments if they don't hold up, but you can tell a lot about a brush in this time, especially if you've used some other ones to compare it to. I like the small size of the brush and it's good concentration of bristles. It lathers well and holds enough lather to cover your whole shaving area. Don't know why you would need a larger brush. They provide a few brief instructions with the brush, which is something I've not seen with others I've purchased. Following their instructions, one of which is to wrap a towel around it and gently squeeze the excess water out of the brush, it often is dry enough to use in 24 hours. I haven't seen a single loose hair, there was no smell or discoloration of my soap even with it's first use. This is a fantastic brush and at a very reasonable price.

Tradition quality
The Simpson shaving brush is manufactured in an excellent way the handle is ivory imitation but it has a good grip when making lather, the badger fibers I guess are hybrid because they give you the feeling of having more firmness similar to the wing that gives you a brush of boar, but without reaching that level of stiffness. I was looking for a badger shaving brush that would give me a small exfoliate, I have a pair of boar but I still like badgers a lot more because of the water retention they give you when making lather and softness, and those of boar are Too abrasive to use with shaving cream, Boar used them for hard soaps. You can use this brush with shaving cream and at the same time lift the hairs of the beard gently without being too abrasive I really liked its performance has the softness of a badger brush and slightly hard without being annoying, it makes very good creamy lather me I use it daily I liked it a lot even you can take it on a trip it is very portable, I hope it helps you something thanks.

Like I said I thought it was a expensive brush ...
A very small brush for what I would call a big price. I would also say it is of limited uses. Like I said I thought it was a expensive brush for what I got. I paid $40 dollars for a brush that was a $20 dollar size. The other problem with the brush is that it is better for soaps than creams, but they both have the same problem in the end. You have to use a lot of soap and cream to get it to be used for a 3 pass shave, it runs out of lather with out fail. The brush itself is very nice and well built and of high quality no problem there. It paints the later on very nicely .I guess my only complaint was the size for the price but was a great brush other wise.

Very small brush, the low-cost Simpson entry
The Simpson Special in Pure is the lowest cost Simpson brush and clearly an entry level product. It works fine for what it is, but it is quite small with a vey small knot of hair at 18mm. Pure badger can be a little scratchy, so if you're looking for more luxury go for something in Best Badger (softer than pure) or Super Badger (very soft). The handle is well crafted, the knot (hair) is well formed, it didn't shed any hairs, and the brush will do. I bought it as a travel brush. I would not recommend the Special as a sole, daily use brush. Simpson's line has many choices and a Commodore 2, Colonel, or Duke 2 would make for a better daily driver IMHO. Something with about a 21 or 22 mm knot makes for a an ideal and more versatile daily driver. If you're looing for something small, well made and cheap from a top maker, this brush is fine. Otherwise, spend a little more and get a somewhat bigger brush, even the Berkeley in Best is under $40 and has a 19 mm knot, which will feel bigger in use. There are also badger choices from Omega, and others that make fine brushes.

Best Badger for the Money :-)
This is my favorite brush. It has a small 19mm knot, great for travel and big enough for my face. Another synthetic brush and also an Omega badger brush were too soft to pick up soap from the puck effectively or for a face lather, but this one is perfect: stiff enough to pick up soap and create a good face lather but soft enough to be comfortable. This was a good buy on Amazon compared to other available sites.

Great little brush !
Smaller size than I originally thought, will be great for travel. Don't mind 19mm brush , handle a bit on smaller side.1st badger brush..it's great , lathers and holds soap well. Not pokey as some have mentioned..at least for me.I can recommend this item.

Awesome shaving brush
I couldn't be more pleased with this brush. Simpson brushes have a well deserved reputation for quality, and this one does not disappoint. I've had mine for two and a half months at this writing and have not noted any shedding. The knot is nice and dense, and the bristles are nice and soft but still have some backbone. As others note, it's a little on the small side, but I knew that when I bought it. If you want something a little larger (and only a little more expensive) consider the Simpson Berkeley or Colonel.
