Works great just replace screws
Nice and easy to use, just replace the screws they include for some nice, long wood screws. Super happy with this kit.

I would recommend!
I bought this for a gate we put on our front deck. We have a 70 lb bulldog the likes to bolt when the door is open. We've been trying to let him be outside with us to get him more used to it so the desire to bolt won't be so strong (goog luck, right!). Anyway, it did what it is supposed to do. If I come home with groceries I dont have to worry about turning around to make sure it is latched shut!

Will not keep tension on the self closing spring if you do not use the locking screw?
Much like other reviewers, the hinges did not stay adjusted to self close. Might work twice then it makes a click sound when opening and releases the adjustable tension.I overlooked the use of the locking screw in the end of the hinge. hope this fixes the issue.

Solved my dog gate problem!
These look great and are sturdy and strong. The inner spring is adjustable, allowing you to tweak the tension for your specific purpose.

Seem very heavy duty but will probably not use these hinges
Just received these hinges yesterday. The hinges and latches seem very heavy duty. The screws that are provided appear very small for their intended purpose. I would definitely recommend using longer screws. The instruction advise to use the spring hinge on top and the non-spring hinge on the bottom. However, it appears both hinges received are spring hinges.I will probably not use these hinges for my gate. The spring mechanism seems very tight. This would be great for perhaps gates in property boundary fences, but I am just using it for a garden gate and want it to have a soft close. Also, while I was testing the self close mechanism prior to installing the hinges, I could click the mechanism easily to tighten them but absolutely could not depress it to release the ratchet. So now my hinges are "stuck" in the third click position. Perhaps I will still be able to salvage them, but for now, I don't believe I will be using them.

I have a real gate on a real wood fence. This is not strong enough to shut it. On the highest "setting", this hinge has just enough juice to close the gate halwfay from a resting open position. If both hinges had springs in it, it MIGHT be heavy duty enough. If you have a 2 oz balsa wood gate on your flower garden this might be the ticket. If you have a real wooden fence and need a device to automatically pull it shut, this will not accomplish that task.
