Chronicle Books Floret Farm's A Year in Flowers

Very content with this book.I would be very honest,I am huge fan of Floret farm/Erin’s team.These guys are amazing!What I can see in the book is a lot ,a lot of work.To write a book is not easy but to write a book so clever,organised,step by step,beautifully presented,clear information....well this is quite a work! I would say the information in the book is given to a small pieces so everyone could understand and start to practice if desire to be florist or do arrangement of bouquet just for yourself. ,,Cut flower garden” and ,,A year in flowers” goes together as information,as two big steps-what to do and how I do it if I would like to be a Flower farmer,Florist or as hobby. Beside she gave tips for all would need - flower varieties, sources,tasks,etc for growing,harvesting and arrangements . Even if you are person who’s never ever been in a farm,never take care of such a responsibility,is not familiar with this process and doesn’t know how to arrange flowers in bouquets.I would say this is where you can start by having those books.A big thank you to Erin’s team,keep going guys and be so very inspiring for all of us!

I was very much looking forward to receiving this book and on first thumb through I was very impressed with the fabulous photographs. However, after sitting down and spending time looking through the various arrangements there really is not much to inspire me. This is much more like a recipe book and if you are a flower grower than it is a useful tool if you spot a particular flower that you like in one of the arrangements and decide it is one to add to your cutting patch. There are some step-by-step techniques but mostly just a lot of repetition of the same sort of arrangement just done with flowers from different seasons.

There are doubtless many dozens of other books out there on flowers and flower arranging - but I find it hard to think that this particular volume won’t float near the top of the pile in years to come, such is the thought and care that have gone into its making. Pictorially sumptuous as well as holistic and uplifting; every page is a labour of love and JOY on the part of the author and her team. As a total novice what I like most is the author’s balanced, common sense approach and the total absence of information overload. Healthy living indeed!

Genuinely one of the best books I've read in a long time. It had everything I wanted: an index with pictures, techniques for different arrangements and, practical advice on what can be harvested at different times of the year. You can tell this book is the sum of a huge amount of love and expertise on flower farming and arranging. Would highly recommend

I was able to watch the TV series and was so keen to get the book to follow it. I am so pleased I did, it is just so beautiful, not to mention the very informative season by season pages of flower arrangements and vases to use. A real keepsake.
