I have used them a few times now and they are holding up well. Feel more confident with the hip protection.

False sense of Safety
I wore these on several rides, not giving them much thought. I was thinking that just because I was wearing them, I would be protected in the case of a fall. However, on one such ride while taking a break, I reached down to feel the pads on my hips, but instead of feeling the pads, all I felt was my hips, unprotected. I realized that the pads must have moved at some point in such a way that my hips were now unprotected. These shorts definitely need some work to make sure the pads stay in place.
