Little Pilgrim's Big Journey: John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress Fully Illustrated & Adapted for Kids

This book is so well made. And the cover is beautiful!I bought this book to read to my second graders and I’m looking forward to pointing them to the Lord through the amazing adventure story!This book has summaries after each chapter and even questions to ask, with scripture references for you to speak about.So glad I bought this book!

The 3 year old was able to listen for a couple of pages before squirming in her seat, she enjoyed looking at the pictures while most of the concepts went over her head. The 4-5 year olds I read the book to listened and understood the main points of the book, but not the details. It has provided great in-depth conversations about spiritual things for the 6+ year olds. I read the entire book in one sitting over the phone with my nieces and nephew. When we got disconnected part way through they called back and asked to finish reading the book.Pros: full color pictures on every page, age appropriate terminology, accurate retelling of the Pilgrims progress, bite size chapters that could be read in 5-10 minutes, 10 chapters total.Cons: the questions and explanation page were presented at the end of the chapter with no images and made it difficult to connect the allegory to the photos and story. It would have been easier to have the explanation on each page. It was helpful to read the description at the end of the chapter prior to reading the story to help explain as we read along.

The best most beautifully written book! Highly recommend and great for young children!

We like to read bedtime stories to my kids, and this one was wonderful. It kept my kids engaged, and I love how it helped illustrate what it means to be a Christian and follow God in a way that kids understand.

A faithful and cute adaption of John Bunyan's famous "Pilgrim's Progress". The art is well done and I read a chapter a night to my 2 kids (8 and 4) and they loved it. They kept wanting me to read another chapter which sometimes I did, or somethings left it at a cliffhanger.Great teaching book, and there's a lot there to have conversations with your kids about character, God, faith, and problems with the world, and how we are to approach life in a wise and prudent way.

Our family really likes this book. I have seen various interpretations of Pilgrims Progress, even movies and this is the best version for young children. Very well done.

Little Pilgrim's Big Journey is a rare find. It does an exemplary job of making John Bunyan's classic accessible for young children. I cannot tell you how many times I have attempted to read through Pilgrim's Progress with my kids but stalled. However at their desperate pleading, we finished this book in one sitting. Even my 3 year old listened the whole way through!At the same time, this book did not depart from Scripture. I often find many children's books need to be read with a discerning eye as liberties are taken that can subtly present an unbiblical view. I greatly appreciated that this book was clear for kids, without compromising the theological integrity of the content. It serves as a great launching point for parents to further engage with their children.Readers will discover that the illustrations are excellent, the chapter summaries understandable, and the discussion questions helpful. Even the epilogue was a must-read of focused exhortation and encouraging reminder to trust and follow the King unto eternity. All pilgrims, young & old, can benefit from reading this book. Highly recommended!
