Insight Editions The Art and Soul of Dune

I've just received this book and it's absolutely beautiful! Compared to LaPointe's equivalent book on Blade Runner 2049, this one both fits easier on the shelf and is packed with more pictures.Books like these are invaluable as documents of the whole process. So many wonderful artists have dreamed of Arrakis and their dreams are on display in this great volume. It's a very inspirational thing to leaf through, with a good variety of concept art for locations, vehicles, costumes and more, from a number of artists.My one gripe - the same one I'd say about the BR2049 one actually - is that there isn't the same level of detail in the text as you'd find in the superlative Making Of books by the late J W Rinzler. When it comes to these books, more is more! But that aside, I'm very glad I have this, so i can go and visit Arrakis whenever I want. Stunning stuff.

We saw the film last night and this arrived conveniently this afternoon. I loved the Blade Runner 2049 book but this is even more luxurious. Slightly more compact, with an exquisite slipcase featuring the sand worm mural, the book itself is beautifully produced. The stunning visual quality of the film deserves a companion to both remind you and enlighten you on how the process was achieved. So far, about three chapters in, this achieves that remarkably well.

As a life long fan of the novel (my GOAT) and a believer that the movie is one of the greatest ever made, I am totally delighted by this book. It is immaculately presented eg. it comes in a cardboard sleeve that you don't see on the product images and the printing has produced texture on the pages.There is A LOT of information in this book, not just about the art, but background on the characters, story, settings etc. Whereas Lapointe's previous move art books are more dip in and out types with just a little text (eg. Blade Runner 2049), this one I really feel like I can sit down and read it for a while, whilst also enjoying the fabulous artwork.

How do you follow up the movie of the year? You produce the art of... book of the year. From cover to cover to everything in between, the quality of this neatly sized book is crammed with beautiful concept art and stills from the movie itself all printed on high quality paper.If you bought The Art and Soul of BR2049 and enjoyed it, this is better.In fact these books are so good that I'm going to order Art and Science of Arrival.

Having seen part 1 on the day or release I waited for the arrival of the book and I’ve certainly not been disappointed. From the beautiful slip case to the book and contents it’s a loving companion to the film
