U.S. Art Supply Black Gesso Acrylic Medium, 500ml Tub - 16.9 Ounces over a Pint

I was taught that Gesso was a great "paint eraser" for acrylic paints. In case you don't know, acrylic paints dry very fast without a slo-drying medium. So if you put something on your canvas that you don't like, you can't really "erase" it. It can be frustrating. But if you apply a little Gesso to the area and wait 24 hours, you can reapproach the area of the painting. Before discovering black, I had done so with my white canvas paintings and was thrill to find black for my black canvassed paintings. I have used it to correct, to start over and to prime a white canvas in black (make sure you lightly sand between coats to get a smoother canvas). I have been pleased with this product every time.The photos I'm supplying show a painting I started and didn't like the progress, but loved one feature (the moon), so I applied Gesso around the moon and started the rest of the painting over. I was very pleased with the end result and kind of upset that I sold it at auction without making some high quality prints of it. LOL! At least the auction was for charity.

I am using this black gesso on unfinished wood plaques. The coverage is very good. It dries very fast. I have not started painting on the gesso yet, but expect it to work well. Very pleased so far.

Just got this out of the box, and it looked like this. Now I have to clean up the jar before I can even use it..... not good. :(
