No. Please only use it on a smooth and non-combustible base.

The material is a lightweight concrete and we do recommend a cooling off period after use prior to storage/covering.

Q: I see no drainage holes in it. I'm assuming that unless you buy another cover it will fill up with water if it rains?

You do not want it to fill up with water. The metal fire bowl will rust. I cover mine with a tarp. Or there is a cover you can purchase to protect it. I love my fire pit. We roast marshmallows with grandchildren. We listen to prime audio books. We visit together and I sometimes treat myself to alone time with my thoughts. We have it on a patio surrounded by five comfy rocking chairs. The pit is also beautiful to look at but Do NOT LEAVE THE METAL PART IN THE RAIN! I might also add that you shouldn’t use water to put it out. Sand or smother or let it burn completely out while you enjoy the last embers of an evening fire.😌😊

Q: Does it have ventilation on the base so the fire can breath?

This fire pit uses a charcoal grid to allow for ashes to fall through, while providing space below for proper ventilation. Due to this we advise to avoid overfilling the fire pit to prevent clogging this area for proper ventilation.
