A little disappointed it tasted more like spearmint/peppermint than mint leaves.

When I ordered this the title was peppermint extract. Unfortunately the second ingredient is spearmint followed but peppermint. Totally adequate if you like spearmint flavor but unfortunately everyone that tasted my candy canes and mint chocolate fudge noted that while they tasted fine they also had a strong toothpaste flavor. Not what one goes for when creating sweets. People's tastes are variable but spearmint is a common flavor for toothpaste in the United States, where as I have read that Peppermint is common flavor for toothpaste in the UK.From a purely product based review this oil is easy to use and flavor sweets and cakes with. It has a good subtle flavor when added to products, though it will release considerable airborne scent when heated and it will taste a little less strong when warm than when cooled. Taste and adjust diligently. I recommend allowing your a sample recipe to cool before tasting and finalizing ingredients.

I searched for Mint Extract and thought that's what I was getting. This is Mint flavoring. I can't use it and it's not returnable. Ugh. Live and learn.

Great for chocolate makers, since it contains no water or alcohol only sunflower and mint oil. To give you an idea of the strength of the mint flavor, I used half a teaspoon to make one 3.5 ounce chocolate bar. At 48 teaspoons per ounce, this is a pretty good value/serving. I'm estimating that you should use 1/2 teaspoon for each 12 servings as a starting point.I tasted a couple drops and it had a sweet strong mint cooling effect on the palate. Would recommend for any baking or chocolate recipe that requires mint flavor.

Oddly enough I bought this because of an ole wives tale about how it would help with hot flashes! It worked beautifully and I survived hot flashes without trying to harm anyone! I soaked a handkerchief in the mint oil and when I felt the hot flash coming on, I would open the zip lock bag and smell the mint and it was so calming! It cut down the problem by more than half! Highly recommend!
