The Numbers Game

As always, a brilliant read!
Brilliant, yes. Although not her best. However, Danielle Steel always succeeds in entertaining and getting my attention. This book describes many of life's problems and unhappiness. The latest years Steel's books have become more and more serious and realistic and more than just easy entertainment. However, as so often in her books, the story takes place among people for whom money seem to be of no or little problem. There is the usual traveling easily between Europe and US, visiting the best hotels and restaurants. If needed, a car and chaffeur is hired immediately, as is a furnished apartment (in expensive Manhattan) and a beautiful home with swimming pool in Greenwich. But just this little taste of having the money to go wherever one wants first class and always choose the best, is something I love about the typical Danielle Steel's world. There is still enough of seriousness and unhappiness in her writing. Steel is an experienced and knowledgeable person and a very brilliant writer."The Numbers Game" kept me entertained and involved from beginning to end. It does not mean that I was completely in agreement with the author. I am not so sure that it is never too late for anything in life. But it is still nice to read about a 90 year old grandmother who is a still going strong artist and deeply in love with her boyfriend(!). And the woman is stunning! This book was an inspiration to live life to the full, no matter what. If not able to do it all, most of us can try and enjoy every day and opportunity we get to the most.
