like the kind you had at summer camp
This is a classic star finder dial, like the kind you had at summer camp. This is a smaller version, about the size of your hand. It comes in a protective plastic sleeve. You can easily put this in a pack so you can add some star gazing to your camping or hiking trips.

Find the stars
This compact planisphere is excellent! Compact and easy to carry, and most importantly easy to read with red light. Very nice to have one suited for us in northern latitudes. Highly recommended. (NB: this only shows stars and constellations; planets move around too much and can be found by consulting periodicals.)

cute
It's cute, but larger would be more appropriate for learning constellations.

A fun little toy for star searching.
We've used this a few times, but can't wait to use it more during the winter when we sit outside around our fire pit! A great size, and pretty sturdy.

Too delicate
Good star chart, easy to use--but the rotating map is paper instead of plastic, too easily damaged. After camping with it twice, moisture caused it to wrinkle (now hard to spin) and disintegrate at the edges.
