I just learned weaving a basket from a couple of YouTube videos last week. Ordered the 1.75mm Reed. Image shows my first project. The material is flexible and very easy to work with. Does not break in the waving process. Feel I can finish the project in a couple of hours and place another order for a bundle of 5!

While the product itself is fine, I wish suppliers would use a universal numbering system. A number 7 from one supplier is much smaller than a number 7 from another supplier. I’m keeping this even though it’s to small for my project. I’ll always use it for something else.

I bought this 3mm reed to make frames/maquettes for lanterns (so not for basket making). It came quick, packaged securely, and was generally as expected. It has a nice bend that lets you make shapes without it breaking.

Worked great! Enough to make a fairly sized basket, roughly 10 diameters and 10 in height. Boiled well, held a good shape. Uniform color.

This round reed is exactly as described- be sure to measure the diameter of a piece of the stuff you are repairing to make sure you get the correct size the first time!!
