No way
I've read thousands of books in my life, and this one is easily in the top ten of the worst books. After I read it, I threw it away, something I don't do very often - I was so annoyed at it.The premise seemed intriguing, that's why I bought it in the first place; there were also the positive reviews. It didn't deliver. This is neither a sci fi book nor a romance. For me, the world-building didn't work, and I couldn't get warm with the characters. As to why they end up in space - forget it.I also didn't care for the writing style, jumping between tenses. The overall impression I got was that the author was trying to hard too be original and philosophical.Save your money.

Ok, but not great.
I feel like I’ve read a different book than all the other reviewers. It’s an easy read but I personally thought the characters lacked depth. I didn’t care about the main male character, the female one I cared a little more, but not much.I also felt that the ‘future-world’ was under-described and hard to imagine. There was a lack of colour for the details.I can see where the author was going and the influences she had when writing it. I hoped it would be great, but I can’t agree with the other reviewers I’m afraid.
