Is there any contamination with heavy metals in this product, as there has been found in the brown rice based protein products?

This is very serious information. Garden of Life is responsible for making sure the product that contains any metals of their products is no longer being sold anywhere. First I’ve ever heard about this. Ferguson

Is this product gluten free? Am trying to cut out wheat to reduce inflammation in the body. Thanks!

Based on my review of he ingredients list on my jar, yes, this is a gluten-free product. Additionally it is free of grasses common in the wheat family including Barley, Alfalfa and Wheatgrass. I find that I am allergic to wheat gluten AND wheat and these are grasses I need to avoid as well. However, I do make a practice of reviewing the ingredient list again with each new purchase in case something has changed. Also, you can review the complete ingredient list on the Garden of Life website. I recommend this product as a super nutrient for those on a gluten-free plan. Purchase with confidence, double check your jar, enjoy!

Does it dissolve in liquid?

No, it doesn't really dissolve. The powder is very fine, similar in size and texture of ground cinnamon. When mixed in water, it becomes a suspension. The first three times I used it, I mixed it in a glass of water, about eight ounces and stirred it with a spoon. It was horrible, like drinking muddy water. I had to choke it down and could feel the "slurry" of powder that clumped and didn't mix well. Now I put a scoopful in a 500ml stainless steel water bottle, fill halfway and shake vigorously. Then I fill the remainder of the bottle and reshake. It's a lot to drink at one time, but it's goes down so much easier.

It is completely a powder. Not even a hint of seeds.
