Exactly What I Needed
Great extinguisher. This is designed specifically for automobile fires though it could be used anywhere you wouldn't want to use dry powder. Extinguisher appears to be well made and comes with a standard aviation mounting bracket, though you will need to purchase the mounting hardware separately as it does not come with the unit. A quick overview of the pros and cons:Pros: Solid construction, nice mounting bracket, cone diffuser (instead of straight nozzle), configured for single hand use, comes in three different colors (red, black and chrome), rechargeable, cheaper than "name brand" extinguishers.Cons: No mounting hardware, not a "name brand" extinguisher, relatively large in size*In summary this is a nice, quality unit that is perfect for protecting your vehicle from additional damage caused both by fire or the dry media of cheaper extinguishers.*As clarification on the size, you can get this in 2.5lbs (which is the size of this extinguisher) or 1lbs. The 2.5lbs unit is a bit large and is difficult to interior mount on smaller performance cars. In fact I had to put it in the trunk due to the size. If you want to interior mount I would recommend the 1lb size, HOWEVER you should be well versed with how to use an extinguisher if you opt for this size; 1lb of haltron does not cover a very large area and you could find yourself with an un-extinguished fire despite the preparation. I would recommend having this 2.5lb size in addition to the smaller unit if you go this route. 2.5lbs is really the smallest size an extinguisher should be for a novice using on an engine fire.

Worth it!!!
The media could not be loaded. Cool black finish, U.S. flag is nice touch. Needed a quick release for the hot rod. Bottom of mount has thin felt so it doesn’t scratch the roll cage. I put one sided adhesive foam on bottle side to protect bottle. Fire extinguisher is a 2.5lb H3R Halgaurd Clean Agent. Video says it all.

Worked Well
Product craftsmanship is first rate. I bought the 2.5 lb chrome plated version. Product works very well on auto electrical fires. I had the unfortunate opportunity to use this product on a dash fire in my Chevelle. Put the fire out quickly and with little residue, I would suggest going with the 5 lb version since I used all of the 2.5 lb version on my small electrical fire in my dash. I am sure adrenaline had something to do with using all of the extinguishers.

Glad I got it; hope I never have to use it, but amazing customer support nonetheless!
A couple years ago a car caught fire across the street from where I work. Nothing left but twisted metal and melted plastic. It could have been prevented if the woman driving the car had had a fire extinguisher in the car and knew how to use it. That day I ordered a standard dry chemical extinguisher off Amazon the kept in on the floor behind me.Fast forward to a couple months ago when I noticed a new CO2 extinguisher waiting to be installed in the Production laser lab. I started looking at CO2 extinguisher which ultimately led me down the path of Halotron. I'm familiar with Halon and then when I found this model, I had to get it for the car. I don't like how messy dry chemical extinguishers are. I had an incident a couple Thanksgivings ago where I had to use the one I bought a decade earlier and I'm still dealing with the repercussions. If possible, I didn't want to go through something similar with the car, so the purchase was a no-brainer.When I received the extinguisher, I noticed that the tamper-proof zip-tie had been broken and the safety pin fell out of the handle as I was examining it. Don't know if it happened during transit to me, during shipping to Amazon, or what, but it happened. I commented on this when I filled out the seller feedback here. I wasn't expecting anything, just making note of the issue. I had purchased a bag of replacement zip ties that they use on extinguishers along with some maintenance tags to record the "regular" inspections you're supposed to do. Then, a week or so later I receive a small box from the manufacturer and inside is a replacement zip tie! Color me impressed!! Not only did they actually read my comments, they went above and beyond to remedy the situation.I hope I never have to use this, but if I do, or need another similar extinguisher, I'm definitely hitting up H3R again. I would recommend the reader do likewise!

This extinguisher works - I know, I had to use it
I didn't see any other reviews of this unit where someone has actually had to use it, except for the one that, frankly I'm skeptical of. I had to use this on a trip out west in my Jeep when the transfer case came apart spraying hot fluid on the complete underside of it and catching fire from the exhaust. The fire was put out instantly and I had extremely little damage other than a few feet of charred wires that needed to be replaced. Had I not had an extinguisher it would have burnt to the ground. This type of extinguisher that doesn't leave the nasty residue the lower cost ones do. This was crucial because there was zero cleanup needed once the fire was out. After having had this happen to me I'd never say that this model is expensive because it saved my Jeep from being a total loss. Cheap insurance if you ask me. One other note I feel I must add: If you're going to carry an extinguisher in a vehicle, mount it where you can easily access the thing. Mounting it in a cargo area likely to be jammed with luggage or other items is not where you want this. Mount it where you can grab it quickly without having to move anything. I have mine as shown in the photo. Is it sometimes inconvenient? Yes, but every second can matter in a vehicle fire so its' well worth that inconvenience.
