What an excellent cross cutting jig.
I was looking for something other than a miter saw and came up on this KREG cross cut jig. Space is a premium in my tiny work shed and this does the job for me. What an excellent tool for cross cutting.

Sets up fast and works really well.
This is an awesome add for your circular saw. Makes square and angled cuts easily. Easy and fast to set up and stows pretty compact. Highly recommend.

Perfect setup for circ saw projects
Assembly is not too bad (much easier with the video). I am so glad I bought this because it’s seriously made cutting 2x4s so much easier and cleaner.

It'll do in a pinch, but don't expect it to last (just like ALL other Kreg products)...
I don't see why people keep buying Kreg. This is the first Kreg jig I've owned, but not the first I've ever used. I was never impressed with their pocket hole jig nor any of their other cheap plastic jigs because I've always been able to find a better, improved alternative made out of aluminum or steel from some other manufacturer. While this jig is about as good as cheap quality plastic can get, it's still not that great. I only bought it because I needed something right away and didn't have time to build a jig myself. The design is somewhat lacking in thoughtfulness and features. The assembly instructions tell you to assemble the saw rails in a way that gets your circular saw as close as possible to the center of the cutting area. For my fairly common saw (Makita 5007MG), that puts my blade about 1/3 of the distance from the right edge of the cutting area, i.e. not even close to center. This means that the angle guide marks on the tool are quite worthless. In other words, this is just another cheap plastic peace of Kreg junk that will wear out in a few years and have to be replaced with my own home made jig.

Great Jig
Excellent jig. It works as described. It is a great tool for those with a circular saw who occasionally want to make precise transversal cuts.

Small but versatile
While there are many tutorials for how to make a similar crosscut jig, at ~$30, this does the trick with little setup. It has the potential to replace both a table saw and a miter saw, as long as you don’t work with large stock. The rails are just high enough to slide 2-by boards underneath flat on their faces. This is a basic limitation of small circular saws, but something to consider. Also, it needs to be secured before making any cuts. Clamps can be used as long as they don’t get in the way. There are also holes for screws, if you need something semi-permanent.It was fairly straightforward to assemble. I did take some extra time ensuring everything is square. I was able to make some very thin cuts and they were very clean with no tear out. Any saw will be fine, though I do recommend getting a high quality blade.
