Dog loves it
I have a 5 1/2lbs Pomeranian, he is a senior who has had a hip surgery, he's mostly blind and halfway deaf, and he's an anxious/particular boy. We live in Florida. I got this for him for Christmas and I was nervous that he would hate it, and not go near it...I was wrapping presents in front of the tree on the rug he likes to lay on and I had set the large mat on the rug and got up to get more tape, and I came back and he was on it (Idk if he knew he was one it at first, but he stayed for twenty minutes). Even now in march, when it's already back up in the 80's most days, he still lays on it. The smaller mat fits perfectly in the bottom of one of his beds (It's not visible in the picture, but it's in there). I tested it before it was given to him and it does get warm, but not too hot, I don't think there'd ever be any remote risk of burn. When he gets too warm, he just moves off it, so Idk if I'd ever put it in a carrier where he doesn't have to option to leave it, but again we're in Florida. The mat does make a crinkly noise when handled and when stepped on, Idk if Pippin could still hear well if he'd be as into it or not, but he can't hear it and his old man bones love it. The material is soft on top, he likes it way more than his cool mats, probably because it's soft. The edges do curl up slightly on the large mat that's just on the rug, but it seems well made...again my dog is a senior and doesn't mess with it at all, just walks on and lays down and walks off, so Idk if it would stand up to biting or digging or anything like that. I have the charcoal, it looks fine, no brand of these will ever be cute, but they work and my dog likes it...I kinda wish there was a people size...

Self-heated bed that works
These self-heated beds are great because they work and my cats love them. Plus, they don't make noise when the kitties walk on them. They are soft, smooth, and not bulky. I initially bought the large pack and the small pack for the outdoor kitty house that we have for the homeless cats that have been coming to my back yard. On cold nights and days the kitties snuggle up on these beds and stay on them in their little house. There was one left over so I put it on my wooden rocker and my inside kitty loves it, sits and naps on it all the time. My older cat couldn't get a chance to sit on it so I ordered a third set so she'd have one. I know they work because my kitty finally got off her new bed and I felt of it---it was nice and warm. So I sat on it and it got really warm and I'm thinking this mat would be great to sit on in the winter if you don't have heated car seats or if you're going to be sitting outside for a while.

Cats love it
I purchased because I needed a waterproof pad for my ancient cat to sleep on. The color is exactly as it appears online. It's very soft and does seem to keep the cat warm where they actually touch/lay on it. It does prevent liquid damage from reaching the furniture it is sitting on. I have purchased 4 of these and have been pleased. They go through the wash frequently. One was not sewn well and the insulated layer was able to come out as the edge came undone. The other three have held up well with machine washing, OUTDOOR line drying. There are little dots that are supposed to provide texture to prevent from falling off furniture--they wash off after 1-2 washings, but I don't think they did anything anyway. My one complaint is that the mats do hold onto a faint urine smell even with washing with soap, vinegar and cat urine cleaner. It's inexpensive enough that it is not a deal breaker.

Porch Cat Approved!
These are most excellent. They're soft and warm and reflect your pet's body heat really well. The slight crinkling noise is due to the space blanket-type reflective material contained within, and bothers our cats not at all. It won't bother your cats either - trust me.So -It doesn't get super cold here in Mount Goatmore, Texas but when you're used to 60s and 70s right up until the day winter decides to drop by and bring its 20s and 30s with it, a warm, dry, sheltered den to get out of the cold, wet and wind can be a life saver. The large size pads are big enough to make a 'U' shaped liner in the small Petmate pet barns. We have two on the covered back porch with the entrances facing out of the wind, and with a thick layer of hay inside and these heat reflecting pet pads, our two formerly feral porch cats (had 'em neutered, vaccinated, and chipped) think they're the greatest thing since canned cat food. Once the sun goes down, they settle themselves in their respective cat hooches and don't come out until daylight. The only way it could be better is if we'd let them in the house, but sorry guys - we've got four indoor cats already and we're not taking any more applications. You'll eventually need to wash 'em - machine wash cold, delicate cycle, extra rinse and line-dry. DO NOT put them in the dryer. These are excellent - your cats will thank you.

I purchased several sets!
A few years back, I decided to make a purchase of these for my very large dogs and cat. My outdoor dog loved hers so much she spent the very first day laying on her mat and napped. We had these for several months before they started to wear out, due to the weather and use (very large dogs). I know these work because I tested them in the house for a few hours when I sat on the bed. The mats are soft, not overly fluffy, very easy and simple to use, the appearance is nice, Quality is great, and easy to clean, thickness is ok. It serves its purpose but adding extra padding on the bottom may help. Overall, I would purchase again for my dog and cat.
