My man cave is at the end of my garden, normal smoke alarm will not work if we are in the house.I have solar power and battery in my cave and to have piece of mind this WiFi smoke detector is just what I need.I have press the test button on the side and it gives a really high pitch beep just like the normal smoke detector but this one will also make a notification on your phone. This will alert me if there is a fire in my garden shed where ever I am as long as I have internet access.Only need 2 screws for the rear case to be mounted on the celling. The app is just my normal smart plug app which is very simple to install.

Love these little smoke detectors. Had an issue after 12 months. Emailed X-sense and they explained their products are warrantied for 5 years and sending a replacement asap. Often customer services can be poor overseas but this company excels most of UK's.

It is very neat and easy to install but will only send notifications to your phone in the event of a fire - for a less easily overlooked phone call need to pay for a subscription

I write this as the smoke alarm is sat in a box with a returns label attached ready to send off for a refund.The idea behind this is brilliant. The execution lacks somewhat though.It paired via the Tuya app to my network flawlessly, and it was showing all the information a person could want. Battery level, network status, and saying there was no smoke detected etc.A couple of days later, it was no longer connected to the app. Tried to re-pair it, but it was not having it. It could not be found. I had reset the alarm by removing the battery for about an hour or so, but nothing.I contacted the seller, explaining that I was more than au-fait with networks and troubleshooting and building and maintaining them etc, but I think he thinks I am a bit dim.I tried a few times over the next couple of weeks, but nothing. I got another condescending reply from the seller when I went over everything with him again, and it is now going back.The poor ratings for this product are spot on. I do not like to give negative ratings, but certain things deserve them, and if this review stops even one person buying this, it will be mission accomplished.

Not entirely easy to get set up (have to temporarily turn off 5Mhz WiFi from your router) - but once done, this is an excellent alarm. It self checks itself including battery, and send an alert to your phone to tell you it's done that. Should stop the usual beeps at night when your old alarm needed a battery change.I now have two of these, and may add another.Recommended (if you can configure your WiFi on your router).

Wow!! I’ve worked in IT for over 30 Years and this took a bit of working out. It was a comment from a reviewer which gave me the clueI have a Virgin Media router which is dual bandTo get this work with the app you must login to your router disable the 5Mz Wi-Fi setup the app with 2.4mhz Wi-Fi enabled then turn back on the 5Mhz after you have finished setting it upI hope that makes sense

Bought this to remotely monitor a location. So far so good. If something bad happens and it doesn't alert me then the review won't be so positive! So far it works great and alerts on test etc.
