I have repaired my Bravos several times now, including the swapping out of the transmission. Finally the lid lock gave out. To be honest, I’ve tried every possible solution under the Sun, including soldering in the jumper wire and taking out the metal bracket. These did not work for me. The two outer wires function separately from the two inner wires. Soldering the jumper between the inner wires will get the lid to lock but it will not start the machine. The only real solution is connecting the two inner wires as a set and the two outer wires as a set to a 15 AMP toggle switch. This was wayyyy too much work to bypass spending a couple of bucks on this set.Installation was super easy - it’s literally plug and play on both ends. You cannot mess up how the ends fit as there is only one way that they can. You will need to unscrew the screws on the metal plate on the back of the washer, pry the top of the washer, slide it out and the lid lock will sit on the bottom front of the top. While at it, swap out the locking pin too as the magnet on it tends to get water on it and rust. The whole installation takes maybe about 30 minutes tops, if that. No advanced knowledge is needed. To be on the safe side, use the technical manual that comes with the washer to run through the test cycles first to make sure that it is, indeed, the lid lock mechanism that’s not working. If you can’t get the “timing” of the knob rotation right, there are YouTube videos that you can follow along to get the machine into the diagnostics mode.Otherwise, this part was a perfect fit and has given me absolutely no trouble. No need to pay $60 for it elsewhere.

It worked perfectly

I broke the original lock trying to get a load of clothes out in a hurry. Our spin cycle takes forever and when I tried to cancel the load, it locked it up for good. So I pulled hard enough to break the lock. This piece fit perfectly and was easy to install. It's been 2 weeks and everything seems fine. The lock is tight due to being brand new. It's already easier to open after normal use.

I bought this because the solenoid on the old one was fried. When I installed it, the machine still would not go into spin cycle. After investigating further I found a single transistor on the motherboard that was also blown. I'm quite sure it would have worked otherwise . A new circuit board would have been in the realm of $300. Ridiculous! A new machine would cost $500. I scrapped the machine and bought another one.
