After installing and turning on the water the handle started leaking internally, don’t waste your money on this cheap seat

After having this for 6 weeks I can say it is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time and I recommend. It was easy to install, might need some WD 40 to get the valve things loose on your toilet but, pretty simple. I am NOT mechanically inclined and I did it without calling 911 for help. Read the step by step instructions, simple easy, have some WD 40 nearby ( not for the product, but for your plumbing valves if they haven't been loosened or tightened in a while). Less tp down the sewer, save $ buying TP the rest of your life, save trees from being cut down to make TP ( humans use 270,000 trees per day globally to make TP) Efficient and enviro friendly all the way around. If you live in an apartment - take it with you if / when you move. There are 2 sprayers one for front, one for back, and there is nothing cleaner! You can adjust the water pressure as high or low as you want, and it can powerwash your behind LOL - careful not to blast yourself clear off the toilet! You can have a low, gentle water pressure or the powerwash. You can practically get a colonic every time you go to the bathroom if you wanted to. LOL These should be a requirement for every home because you save so much for sewers to break down and you keep more $$$ in your pocket in the long run and it saves trees from being cut to make ... TP what a waste. Once you get the hang of it you only really need tp to dry off, far cleaner! It’s like taking a shower every time you go to the bathroom! There is no hot / cold option on the model I bought, I don't mind, it works great. I think the best thing is just how clean you feel - you basically only need to use TP to dry off. LOLOLOL… but seriously! Cleanliness is next to godliness.

My wife and I recently moved, and in the process decided to update our bidet attachments. Unfortunately with the onset of COVID driving toilet paper prices through the roof, Americans also finally discovered the joys of the bidet. That meant finding one was difficult, and far more expensive, than it had been the last time I'd looked. Still, once you've experienced the cleanliness that a bidet can provide it's impossible to go back, so I went shopping. I turned to The Wirecutter, as I often do, to narrow down my list of products to shop for. I've almost never bought something they have recommended and had it turn out disappointing. Therefore, knowing that my master bath does not have a GFCI receptacle in the toilet area I looked to see what they recommended for a non-electric bidet attachment. That pointed me to this product, the Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-250. Having experience installing other bidet attachments, I knew more or less what I'd be in for when the product arrived. What I was unprepared for was the level of quality I found in the box. My last bidet attachment included a T adapter that was made of soft, and barely serviceable plastic. The one included with the Brondell was metal, and had a solid heft. The braided hose was also metal and had excellent fittings. Even more surprising, they had included a length of Teflon tape in the package (I already had my own ready just in case) to ensure that the installation would be absolutely leak free. There is literally everything you'd need in the box except the tools! Installation was incredibly simple (I was done in less than 10 minutes), and left my toilet with nary a drip from any of the new fittings. I appreciated that the thin design meant that my toilet seat had no flex, meaning I didn't have to make any adjustment to ensure it would continue to operate normally (my last attachment required new bumpers under the seat to level it out). The activation "knob" was easy to confirm to be in the off position, not only by its orientation, but also by a satisfying click when it is disengaged. I really enjoy the knob compared to old dial and lever style bidet attachments I've used in the past. It is dead simple for anyone to use, and provides a pleasant ramp in pressure so you can dial things in exactly as you like them! Without getting into details, I've been very satisfied with the use of this Brondell, and will likely look into more of them in the future for our other bathrooms. I know my old attachments installed in the guest bathrooms made many a convert, and I have no doubt that more of these Brondells will do the same. Great product, and truly a higher quality than many of the other options that I've found out there. I'd recommend this to anyone without electricity near enough to their toilet to get a heated option.

I rate it a 3 simply for my own nuanced preferences. You very well may rate it a 5 or more. This works, no doubt about it, and it looks great. I think one of the better looking bidet attachments out there. And its high quality is very apparent. My two downsides are the following: 1) the handle is front and center and you turn it on by horizontally twisting the handle, which is completely flat on the top (so it has side that can catch on things). All sounds good, except there is nothing around the handle to prevent accidental turnings-on. LOL. Accidentally dropping a roll of toilet paper, a box of Kleenex, or anything with the right line of attack on one of the top flat sides could hit the side of the handle and inadvertently turn on. Which happened to me. It can be quite a surprise when bending down to try to catch a falling Kleenex box and you’re met with a slight spray of water right at you. I would also imagine users of significant size could inadvertently turn it on with their …overhang…”. I have accidentally turned it on with too much of a “leg spread.” I would much rather see the handle completely cylindrical so as to not “catch” anything if it stays in the same orientation. 2) the nozzle holes are much smaller than my other bidet brands’ holes. This turns the streams of water into very fine high pressure attack lasers. Again some may like this. Yes, the handle allows you to adjust the pressure, but I have very high water pressure. Even at low settings on the handle, Just to get the water level “up to its target,” requires enough pressure that I feel like my hole is being cleaned by an army of water scalpels. Again, some may like this fine-tuned aggressive approach. I would prefer larger holes so that I could better manage the pressure with the handle while having a softer, more gentle wash with more volume and less pressure. Aside from those two things, I’m impressed with the quality of construction and the appearance of it. The design is very sharp looking. This review isn’t meant to dissuade people from buy and using it. Just letting you know my findings. Between being unable to return it within the return window (I’m now traveling away from home and won’t be back in time) and adapting how to use it, I am fine keeping it and using it.
