Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Oval Dutch Oven, 2.75 qt., Marseille

The day I received my Dutch oven I made Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon and it gave me new life. Having a good Dutch oven that is made from quality iron and has exceptional enamel will change the way you cook. Because you can brown meats and vegetables in it on the stove and then put it in the oven, it’s easy to make one-pot meals that have flair. Can you do this with any cheap Dutch oven? Not successfully. The quality of cheaper iron means it heats unevenly due to impurities, and lesser enamel will crack, craze or chip. I had an inexpensive Dutch oven and after only a few months it started to rust in areas that weren’t coated with ceramic. I’ve had many pieces of Le Creuset for years and they still look amazing.

I ordered this beautiful oval, 5 qt., meringue color, Dutch Oven, and it arrived promptly. It is a beautiful piece. It is a gift for my daughter, so I have not used it, but I have several other Le Creuset Dutch Ovens in various sizes, and really love them. I cook up so many different things in them. They are heavy, solid pans, and wonderful to make all sorts of dishes in. They clean up so easily. This piece will last a life time.

So far so good :) I replaced the original silver knob with a large copper one. Love it already. The booklet it came with contains important information on maintenance and usage, I wouldn’t throw this away. I know this will stay in the kitchen for years, will try to make sure not to stain it!

Bought this as a wedding gift. The bride loved it. She has thanked me for it multiple times. It was on her registry at another store, but I found it much cheaper here.

The powerful heat of cast iron, without the required maintenance. And Le Creuset is the best. Will last several generations.
