The Pro's Far Outweigh the Con's plus You Can Wake Up to Kenny G! ;-)
I hate waking up to a loud, irritating buzzer or beeping alarm, so I was looking for a clock that has nature sounds as an alternative. There certainly aren't many options out there. There are a bunch of sunrise simulation clocks that have nature sounds (I think most or all are made by the same manufacturer but with different fake brand names), but every single one of them turns on the light (and gradually increases it) 30 minutes before the alarm is set to go off. I don't want to be woken up 30 minutes early. I'd be ok if the light came on 5-10 minutes early, but not 30. I know that was a mild digression, but maybe you're considering one of those clocks since they have nature sounds. I ended up choosing this clock since it has numerous good things going for it:Pro's:1.) you get six nice sound options to wake up to (not including the beep option). I like the birdsong, and don't laugh, but the Kenny G option is kind of nice too (just don't keep listening or you'll fall right back asleep since his music can do that to you. Lol)2.) the nightlight comes on when the alarm sounds, so it essentially gives you two simultaneous ways to wake up (which I wasn't aware of when I purchased it). I have to turn the clock on an angle so it doesn't shine directly in my eyes since the light is a bit of a jolt when you're in a deep sleep in a very dark room.3.) no ticking to keep you up all night (hooray!) But you already knew that.4.) I like the simple front controls for changing the wake up sound options or the sound level.5.) Speaking of the sound level, this clock can definitely put out the volume if you need it to. If you're a deep sleeper, I would have to believe that this thing would be able to wake you. If you accidentally turn the volume button all the way down, the volume is not zero - it is still enough to wake me, which is a good thing.6.) I sent an email to the vendor and they did reply back in a day or so (more about that later) so at least they're reading their email and replying. They seem like nice people.7.) the clock seems to be keeping accurate time so far.8.) the price was very affordable and they even threw in three batteries9.) Besides the nightlight coming on when the alarm goes off, it's also a nice plus if you NEED to turn on a light in the middle of the night. Maybe you heard a disturbing sound in the dark, so you want some light to see if Freddy, Jason, or Mike have sauntered into your room. The light is easy to find since it has a sizable button on top. Ironically, the nightlight can also be part of a con (see below).Neutral (neither a pro or a con but worth mentioning):1.) the clock is a bit larger than I initially expected so not really a travel alarm clock, but not an issue for me, since I only intended it for our bedroom. (To be fair, it wasn't marketed as a travel clock).Con's:1.) the glow-in-the-dark hands on the clock are pathetic, so you can't see what time it is in the middle of the night. If you want to see the time, you need to hit the nightlight, and it seems pretty bright when the room is pitch black. I prefer to lay there and ponder the time instead (unless I think I hear Freddy, Jason, or Mike walking in and then the bright light becomes a pro - see above).2.) The alarm is consistently 8 minutes off. That's not a major issue for me since I just have to consistently set it for 8 minutes earlier, but I still feel that it's a negative since it's not accurate. I sent an email to the vendor, and they nicely replied that you can't expect analog clocks to be accurate when it comes to the alarm setting. It's been a very long time since I last had an analog alarm clock, but my recollection is the alarm setting on that clock was always dead-on accurate. Oh well.Bottom line is it's a very good clock overall and definitely very nice to wake up to, therefore I can deal with its two quirks and smile each morning as the relaxing sounds of Kenny G permeate the air....

for us people who dont want to use cell phone alarm
its tangible. nice looking. several alarm sounds to choose. several volumes to choose. snooze button. lighted backround. it is a little off when the alarm rings but this can be adjusted when you know that. like you might set for a certain time but it will alarm maybe five minutes later or five minutes early. so you can adjust that when you know. i have two of these and were both off by a few minutes. i do recommend this tidy alarm clock.

What a terrific find - where has this thing been all my working life
Ok people. As a 70 year old White male I was able to have this little gem set up and operating in two minutes. Where has this little beauty been all my working career. Its lovely. Easy to set up, it came with batteries and the instructions are a breeze. The ability to set the alarm to one of five soft playing music tunes ,plus control the volume is the high point No more glaring buzz or bell ringing. The alarms set switch on/off it easy to locate. I would have paid up to have had this on my nightstand when I was still holding down a job. Its a find looking sort of retro style analog devise. I selected the Black/White model. As an old poop that has survived stoke, this was simple to setup and easy to read and set. FIVE STARS any day of the week. Its a good good value. Perfect bedside clock for me
I love the size of this clock because it's so easy to read from clear across the room. I love the light that comes on if you press the top button because it is a dim amber light, not something that sears your eyes at 2AM or lights up the whole room, waking up others. I love the variety of alarms; you can just turn a dial choose the one that suits your mood. I love the fact that the snooze button is on top, the shut-off is on the side, so you can't accidentally shut it off thinking you only hit "snooze". I love the volume control on the alarm - that is priceless and hard to find in an alarm clock. I love how utterly obvious and user-friendly it is to set the time and alarm and choose an alarm and change the volume ....totally analog and simple. I love how lightweight it is, and it looks classy sitting next to my bed - doesn't look cheap. So far the accuracy is spot-on. There's everything to like about this clock.
