They utilize a proprietary rolled lip design that provides extra strength where you need it and a much lower cost than cast wheels. The rolled lip protects against rock damage far better than any aluminum wheel and because of our construction method, the wheel is lighter than cast wheels as well. The SPARTAN tire is designed with a reinforced bead providing extreme wheel (rim) protection, delivering the survivability and performance the US Military demands. These 12 PLY rated tires provide the operator with a unique advantage over the competition. Inflated or deflated, rely on the 12 ply run flat tire specifically constructed and proven to keep you going. The extreme terrain conditions experienced by U.S. military forces and extreme off-road enthusiasts demand the highest level of tire payload capability and survivability for critical success. Our Run Flats have been long-term performance tested at over 1,200 miles with no inflation and had no tire failures. We did extensive testing with different rubber compounds to achieve a balance between ride quality, traction characteristics and the required durability. In the field, our customers have stated that the ride quality with these tires is almost identical to conventional inflated tires.
