TC Electronic, customizable to a insane level.
So I just play at home these days, but am always looking for something to helps me with my looping and recording, all just for creative outlet. So this makes a decent fake twelve string sound, and a bass to sound like an organ...I couldn't help but start playing "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" immediately. The real selling point though is the tone print feature, so download the application on your phone or computer and you can download many different presets (only on on the pedal at a time). On the computer application the amount of customization is almost ridiculous. I will never get that much into it, but I know folks who might never get around to playing as they would have to tweak everything over and over. The sound, this is a pedal that used right sounds nice, go easy, no really, many smaller amps won't appreciate the sub 2, especially on a bass with a low b, really not much use at that point.Battery. Ok folks, back in the day of simple 1970's pedals, and some of the simpler pedals, a 9v is fine, with the feature loaded TC pedals, just stick with an ac adapter. I use the cheap SPOT, and have had fine success, using it with an a/b switch, four TC pedals, and a looper. No Buzz. Would I say that this is THE pedal to get, nope, I would use it as a nice little tool, I like it fine, I have zero complaints, but those listening might if you use this thing on every song. I currently have it after a Mojo pedal, before the Helix and HOF2.Oh, and it is really amusing with a microphone! (like that is uber creepy man!)

A Great Choice for an Octave Pedal
We added a song that required an octave effect and I thought I would give this a try since I have had such great results with all of the TC electronic purchases I have made so far. Right off the bat, I was really impressed with the tone and options of this pedal. I was able to dial in a very usable and cool sound instantly. The tone is far superior to the MXR slash octave pedal that I had also tried, which I did not like at all. The toneprint option is very cool, you can really dial in the specifics for your particular rig and save it as a tone print, or try the many available tone prints from other artists and/or players that are available. Great Tone and outstanding flexibility make this an awesome choice for any guitarist looking for a quality octave pedal.FYI. I placed this as part of the input signal going into my Marshall head. It reacts great with a tube head in a high gain or clean situation.

Great pedal, EATS batteries
I bought this pedal after discovering the Tone Print options available. It sounds great and is easy to dial in nice tones. BUT, it EATS batteries, I've use it on a pedal board for over a year with an AC power supply and had no issues. I took it off the board to use it as a stand alone and with a brand new battery installed, it did not last two sets. I'll never trust it with a battery again.

Great pedal for bass and keyboard.
This is an amazing pedal. I am a bassist and keyboard player and this gives me a TON of sonic footprint to add to my sound. Using Logic it records like a dream. The main issue is one of our guitarists uses it and wont let me use it. I highly recommend this pedal. The toneprint is amazing. I have their Flashback and Hall of Fame and the three together make my pedal board finished for bass and keyboard.

Good tracking, but poor sound quality.
I returned mine as I didn't like the sound. I tried it out with 3 guitars (sg, telecaster, and an electric acoustic). I also tried it out in a variety of places in my signal chain. For me, the octave up is too thin and synth sounding, and when paired with a fuzz, doesn't really give you that classic octave fuzz sound at all. The sub one again was a bit thin, and didn't sound like a bass IMO. Sub 2 is so low you just get nothing of useful sonic value unless you are playing very high up on the neck. In poly mode it tracks pretty well, so the lag is minimal and you can play chords etc. but the sounds you get are just not that pleasant so the tracking ability is kind of irrelevant. You can get some interesting tone print sounds, but most of pretty unusable unless you need very warbly or organ tones, which can be gotten better through other pedals. Seems like one of those pedals you won't actually use, and will live in storage somewhere.

Artificial tones, lag
This pedal is ok but all the artificial tones sound very artificial. The Tone Print thing is entirely glitchy and frustrating, both the phone and Mac app. I was hoping for more at the price point. After a year, I traded in this pedal for an Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork - results are much better. I suggest the Pitch Fork over the Sub N Up.

Awesome pedal with some great hidden features
I was going to buy the EH micro POG when a friend recommended this one. The pedal is very versatile and even has some additional, non POG features that can be programmed in through their TonePrint technology that allows the user to tweak internal settings via USB or even whackier, by holding your phone next to your guitar and sending a patch update through audio kind of like the old acoustic modems.

My Current Favorite Pedal
I'm using this pedal for bass and I'm impressed with the variety of tonal possibilities. For bass I find that the octave up is the most useful because an octave down from an already low bass note is just too low. I do play guitar though and I've tried out the octave down setting and find that it's almost like adding a bass to accompany myself. Overall I like the setting where you play with both the dry and the octave at about equal volume. I was also pleasantly surprised at the variety of sounds you get with the little toggle switch, one of them sounds similar to an organ including the vibrato which I wasn't expecting. I have a lot of bass and guitar pedals, most of which I don't use very often and a couple of other new ones that I don't even like so this was a nice surprise and I recommend it!
