Cold-pressed Strawberry Oil is fantastic for the skin. It's rich in omega 6 and 9, and it's main ingredient is ellagic acid -- a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties that helps preserve collagen (gives skin a plump, youthful appearance), and brighten skin. It's also rich in Vitamin E which helps skin to heal and protects the skin surface. What could be better?My only concern about this oil is the smell. Good quality cold-pressed strawberry oil -- this from strawberry seeds -- should smell just like sweet strawberries. Although this oil is harvested, bottled, and imported from the Andes and I have no reason to doubt that, it still lacks the tell-tale smell. If you've ever been on a farm, this oil has the slightly bittersweet grass smell of hay, or the earthiness of alfalfa. Nothing like strawberries, so I question the cold-press purity of it, and really don't care for the smell which doesn't diminish.Even so, I like the feel of this oil, the sheen of it on skin, and the moisturizing quality without looking "oily". I'm not allergic to strawberries, yet it has a distracting sting that doesn't go away. I don't have another brand of this oil to compare this one to, but both those issues are a bit of a red flag. Maybe something in the processing of this oil is irritating to me or adulterated the strawberry smell. Although I can't argue with the appealing effects on my skin, I'll use it with some caution for those two issues.Can also be used on hair and in aroma therapy. Generous-sized bottle 1 fl oz.

I've had the opportunity to use several of AndesBeauty's pure, cold-pressed oils. They've all been bottled in a no-frills, frosted, safety-sealed, 1oz glass dropper, and made without fillers. Each is 100% [insert focus ingredient], in this case, 100% strawberry seed oil.As I've gotten older and learned more about the healthful benefits of using well-made, skin-suitable oils on hair and skin, I've become something of a collector, covering high and low price-points, makes blends of and single ingredient potions. The AndesBeauty is a very affordable, mindful brand. The oils are vegan, bottles on-site (in Chile), recyclable, and cruelty-free.All of AB's oils I've used have been intoxicatingly fragrant; natural to the product. The strawberry oil, of course, smells like a sweet burst of summer-fresh strawberries. I like to take a few drops of the light amber-colored oil, massage between my hands, and lightly comb it through my locks. The oil gives my hair a little extra protection and nourishment coupled with the beautiful, fruity scent.Not too heavy. Not too greasy, assuming you don't dole out too much and try to apply a palmful of oil. Two to three drops are more than enough for your face or hair (middle to ends). More is just a waste.Be sure to keep these in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, cold, or heat. If you can avoid keeping it in the bathroom, given the humidity extremes with showers, it would be ideal. Otherwise, stow them in a drawer to preserve the oils' life as they will eventually expire and go rancid.I will continue to order from this brand and try out as many of their oils as they become available.

Okay, I was not expecting a lot from this oil. I use carrier oils of all sorts to make skin care products for me and my family. I decided to try this one and see if I wanted to add it, and WOW. It is amazing.HOW THIS COMESThis oil comes in a box well marked with a clear matte glass bottle with a dropper that screws on the top.OIL COLORThe oil color is a nice golden color.SMELLThis oil is HEAVENLY. I am serious. I would not say it smells like fresh berries, but it does smell just like freeze dried strawberries which I have used a lot.TEXTUREThis oil is what I would call a dry oil. That means when you put it on the skin it goes in pretty quickly without a highly slick finish and absorbs into the skin very quickly.HOW I USEBy itself, a few drops will do my face and neck. I only use this once every other day. I alternate with other oils as the strawberry is more on the acidic side than most oils. Although in a blend it balances out well. I just have not perfected the blend I want to use it in yet.ANY REACTIONS?Strawberries on their own are more on the skin renewing side but are on the more acidic side. That means that there will be a tingle or slight burning at first. I have experienced that with other similar oils from fruits which are more fruit acid than others. It is not bad, it stops quickly but I do notice a skin renewal over time of using it.DOES IT HELP?I really love this oil. It is great for lip balm too which I am going to make some of using this as part of the oils added along with beeswax. I have not used it on hair, but I have used it on face and backs of hands and I really like it a lot.THE BOTTOM LINEThis oil is heavenly. I love the smell and it is a great textured oil. I have seen some skin renewal after using it only a week so far.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. I love this oil and use it a lot. It is a great addition to face blends with essential oils or as is and also for lip balms. Because of the fruit acid nature of strawberries, I do see a bit of improvement in the skin I have used it on. I did not notice any significant sensitivities to the sun so far either.
