Pretty nice purchase
I've had this collar for a couple of weeks. I basically like it but it is frustrating too. The collar has an automatic power saving feature which turns off the collar portion of the system after 1 hour. If you do not reactivate it before you let your dog out, you can turn it back on if your dog is close enough. The problem with this is that it will tone your dog and if it is like mine, they come running and don't do their business. Then I have to spend time convincing her she needs to go back out and eliminate. If your dog is out of range to turn it back on you are out of luck. This has been a learning curve for me. The turn off and on range is shorter than to actual working range of 330 yards. I am suspicious of the waterproof nature of the collar part of the unit. The built in rubber cap is nice and sturdy but does not seem to seat very securely and I don't want to try it out. I love the fact there are no batteries to change and to recharge it is just a simple plug in. The unit is set up so both parts can be charged at once. The collar that comes with the unit is very tightly wound and has significant memory. Even after I trimmed it because I have a medium sized dog, The end was always sticking up and easily I finally put a rubber band keeper on it to secure it. I don't use the shock portion of the device so I don't have it snugged up tightly to my dog's neck. I like the fact that I can tone and can go to vibrate if I need further correction. This is all my dog needs. The cost for this collar is very reasonable and it is worth a try. I don't know how long it will last. The size is light weight and smaller than the unit I am replacing. It was easy to replace the collar it came with. Since I only use it on one dog I bought a nylon collar that snaps together and cut off one end to thread it through the loops. Once threaded, I sewed the cut end back on and now I just snap it off and on as needed. I will say for those of you that use the shock feature, the dial turns very easily and you might actually hurt your dog if not careful. I would prefer something a little better guarded if I needed shock on my dog. The dial does not seem to affect the loudness of the tone or the intensity of the vibration. Fortunately the shock button is pretty well separated from the vibrate and tone button.

Great product. My only issue is that you have to remember to turn the product on. A couple times it was forgotten and my dog is smart enough to know it! It turns off after a few hours, so if you leave it on for an extended period of time, remember to check and listen for the beep after pushing the power on the collar. It seems to stay charged for about 5 days after taking walks at least 2-3 times a day if you don't leave it on all the time. Good price for what you get! I am so proud of my Delilah for how she only took one shock for her to catch on. Now I only need to beep and she is right by my side in an instant.

Bidness time!
So far so good! I have a 5month old black lab puppy and I just couldn't get through to her on certain things (jumping, begging, getting in the garbages, cat box, stealing food, etc) and I was tired of yelling and swatting at her and I don't like having to swat at her at all. We purchased this collar based on it being waterproof - it IS a lab puppy - and that there were many steps of correction and levels to those steps. Also, the price is amazing.I do not use the word NO with the puppy but instead I say OUT and I try do do it in a German Haus-Frau kind of way. Its the only "uh-oh" word the puppy responds to. I rarely have had to use the collar, but when I do it's an automatic adjustment in the puppies attitude. If she is doing something bad, she gets a beep and a stern "out!" if she repeats it, she gets a vibrate on 20 and a louder, harsher "out!!" and there has only ever been a 3rd time (which is a shock on 20) twice and she was not happy, she yipped and ran away and I felt like a piece of crap. 80% of the time she stops on the beep though and really that's what we wanted is for her to mind her manners and realize its business time when the collars on. I have used it so rarely that it's ran out of juice from just not being used.Which is another great thing, is that it's easy to charge. For us, each charge lasts about 3 days give or take and takes about 4 hours to charge up and that's when its been completely drained. I would say the only downfall to the collar is its super long and I wish there was some sort of clasp to hold back the extra length of the collar. Right now we loop it back and forth in the buckle so it's not flapping around because if it flaps around the puppy chews on it and she has to get a beep.

I am not happy with the battery life on the receiver
Well built device functions similarly to my previous e-collar of similar price.I am not happy with the battery life on the receiver, my previous e-collar from another company (aetertek) was the same cost but it would last 3 full days in an always on mode. This one shuts down after a couple of hours of not being used and you have to manually turn it back on (both the remote and reciver not just the remote) and it still only last 3 days of mild use and then turns off without warning. My old collar would flash red to tell you it was low on battery the day before, this one does not do that and if it does, it has to flash red for less than an hour before becoming completely dead so I have never seen the low battery indicator. I also do not like the static correction, I have used both collars on myself at all the intensity levels this one feels like a sharp burning pain at all levels where the other e-collar distributed the schock over a larger are of your body and made your muscle contract and twitch. I do not know if the dog perceives it any differently, but this one is by far more painful than the previous collar.
