A Bad King is a Sad Thing: Book 5 (Rabbit and Bear)

I bought this book and the series for my 7 year old son. There are words and pictures so it’s moving him into older books. He’s able to read these on his own. He laughs out loud sometimes and loves them!

My 6 year old son is a big fan of Rabbit and Bear books and was very excited to get this new book in the series. Fun story with a nice underlying message. Lovely illustrations and a good reading level for young readers just getting some confidence at reading by themselves. My son can’t wait for book 6 (although he’ll have to as it’s not out for ages!)

The Rabbit and Bear series have become a bit of a cult in our family, and this one does not disappoint. Rabbit’s adventures point to a lesson for life. Very funny , for grownups too and great to read aloud. Brilliant illustrations. Probably better to read the earlier books first. This series is addictive. I hope that another one is coming song soon !

Superb! Every book in this series is a gem, I've had this on order for a long time. I've read most of the series as they have been released, and my daughter's at 8 and 10 are no less enthusiastic about this volume than they were when they were 4 and 6! Great pacing, comedic (with some laugh out loud toilet humour) and yet moving, with some great stories related to existential and philosophical themes of personal development without being overbearing. Like a modern Pooh and Piglet, Rabbit and Bear have found a place in my famies heart.

My 3yr old loves these stories read to her and the 5 and 8 yr old enjoy reading them. They know the tales off by heart and explode into giggles every time.
