Works nicely with Lego mindstorm
Bought this as a wireless connector for the lego mindstorm kit. Works a treat in all my mindstorm bricks.

cheap construction
When it works, it is exceptionally good. Sadly, it is not that reliable.I have two I use in my garden office, about 10 metres from my router inside the house. One is on my windows gaming box, the other is on my Mac I use for music and art.I've had both for about 6 months. One broke - it just stopped being able to pick up 5ghz at first, then just stopped working entirely. The other is intermittent. There is something to be said for weather conditions - when it's very humid/damp - yes, any wiFi signal is going to suffer as a result. There's also factors such as other signal activity in the area.Despite these factors, from one hour to the next, it can go from 50mb/ss internet speed to about 2mb/s.My router is capable of about 70mb/s max - so I'm really happy with anything over 20mb/s from 10 metres away in the garden.Sadly, edimax quality has never been particularly good and even more sadly, it's probably one of the best affordable solutions out there. They are all mostly crap, because wiFi itself is ... not particularly good.

Basic
This USB WiFi/ Bluetooth USB dongle was a bit dissapointing for me, the WiFi signal wasn't great (as expected through due to the tiny antennas inside it) and the speeds I got through the connection were horrible, I got 10mbps down and 20mbps up (the latter is normal for my WiFi) however the download was so bad compared to my other devices in that area of my house that I ended up just getting a £20 PCIe WiFi/ Bluetooth card which solved all my problems, I ended up getting 50mbps down and 20mbps up which is great. My other gripe was the Bluetooth range, I connected with a controller and moving the thing more than 50cm away resulted in enourmous latency to the point where doing anything on the computer using the controller was out of the quesiton. Again, this was solved with my new card. Wouldn't reccomend putting this in a PC however would probably be fine for use with something like a raspberry pi.

Not great range, but suitable for large single rooms or small flats
I was hoping to use this on my desktop pc 2 floors above the router I'd connect it too, but after seeing maximum throughput of around 1-10mbps (0-1MB) I decided to go with an adapter with a screw-on antennae which was able to get ahold of around 80% of my 40mbps internet, some losses like that are normal over wifi. After that disappointment, I can now only use this USB adapter if I am either in the same room or within 10m through a single wall or floor.I can see that this product would be great for both low bandwidth and wide open areas if you wanted something discreet, but with the size of it there are major shortcomings.

Bluetooth range is poor
I only bought this to pair my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones to my PC so I can't comment on the WiFi signal but it seems that you really do get what you pay for. The bluetooth signal is great if I'm sat at my PC but if I get up and walk about 2m away from my desk then the signal in my headphones cuts out and then switches to a very low quality streaming setting which gives about another 2 metres of range before also cutting out. My cans also won't switch back to the high quality streaming mode when you sit back down again without being turned off and back on again.I appreciate that there is probably a mixture of things at play here with the firmware on my headphones but I would recommend spending a bit more money if you'd like to maintain connectivity at range

Don't get if you expect Bluetooth!
Purchased as it was listed in the Bluetooth adapter category and I needed a high power Bluetooth adapter. So it's kind of useless to me. Luckily my brother needed a WiFi adapter for his PC, and he seems happy enough with it.Seller really needs to fix this listing, I'm not the only one who has been misled by the mis-catagorisation of this product reading the other reviews and questions here. At least manufacturer was prompt responding to my compatibility query, so a couple of stars for tech support.
