Discovery of the Presence of God: Devotional Nonduality

Not one to be read at a sitting! Vast amounts of information of very high quality which needs to be pondered and assimilated. You won't reach enlightenment through reading this book since that is dependent on so many other factors but this is the best 'How To' book I've found so far. A good route map. If you are serious in your quest for spiritual development then this is a seminal work and incredibly useful. Buy it.

Every book that Dr. Hawkins wrote is very valuable to spiritual understanding and advancement. I was making check marks next to paragraphs that were exceptional. Just about every paragraph is exceptional. He writes with great clarity and precision. This is a must read for those along the path. Actually, all his books are a must read.

Very few books actually deliver on the promised subject matter as this one does. A essential handbook for the spiritual seeker.The most profound book of our time.

Great product

I really enjoyed this book and am a great fan of Dr. David Hawkins. It is not for everyone, but is very helpful to those of us who are sincerely seeking the Truth and how to become It. Of course reading a book about the Presence of God is not going to make you Enlightened, however it does give very valuable sign posts and a deeper understanding, in no-nonsence modern everyday language of what is involved and how we can manage in our modern world to move towards the freedom of Truth.He uses his logarithmic Map of Counciousness to calibrate the various levels of development and it is useful to read 'Power vs Force' to fully understand how he developed this map and how important and a useful tool it can be in understanding where one is in the large scheme of consciousness. Being a medical doctor and englightened himself in our modern day life, his mission is to share what he Is in a language we can comprehend. His hints are invaluable and fully explained.This book summarises much of what he has talked about is great detail in previous books, and takes it forward to a new level, so it that sense it is a good place to start, as it is very inspiring, optimistic and hopeful.Good reading!

I found this to be a valuable book, but didn't feel I got quite so much out of it as the others of his I've read/reviewed. But all Hawkins' books are of such high quality that they deserve five stars.The book is comprised of two sections - The Spiritual Process and Discussion. Included in the former section are chapters on Devotional Nonduality , The Inner Path, Orientation, Spiritual Practices, and more.We are informed that the condition of Enlightenment is "the state of pure Radiance that chimes forth as the Presence/Self". The personal self does not become enlightened but instead "falls away and is replaced by the previously obscured Reality of the Self as the Radiance of God Immanent".Devotion is not the same as piety "but ... a way of life and a way of being with oneself, God, and the world."According to consciousness research, the likelihood of reaching Enlightenment is now about one thousand times more likely than in the past.The pathway of nonduality is not arduous - it is merely the degree of the ego's resistance to it that is so.We are informed about the paths shown by the great religions. E,g. Christianity is the path of love and forgiveness, Buddhism is the path of compassion, Judaism is the path of living by sacred law. And so on.Both the Buddha and Jesus Christ taught that the basic `sin' (defect) of humans is ignorance."Consciousness calibration research confirms that God is transcendent, immanent and present in all that exists as the very Source of Existence itself, and thus the non-linear is simultaneously present in the linear."The purpose of mantras is to still the mind and invoke a high energy field. States of spirituality and ecstasy occur naturally at the calibrated levels of the high 500s.
