Premium V HD DVB-S2 PVR FTA Satellite Receiver - New Edition

Works fine for me, but there is a little "gotcha"... it only outputs analog video on the yellow connector when the display resolution is set to the minimum, all other resolutions seem to be out putted on the HDMI connector only. Now that is ok with me as I do not need to have both resolutions simultaneously, but the unit arrived factory set to the highest resolution, so when I plugged in the yellow connector into an older set that I was using in my shop, I saw nothing! I had to first connect the box to a HDMI equipped set to set the resolution, so that anything could be displayed on the older set. This could be a real problem if one does not have a newer set to view the set up menus.

This receiver is working well for receiving the PBS transponders on the 125W Ku band FTA satellite (AMC-21) with a GEOSATpro 36" dish, despite significant interference from the adjacent (stronger) Hughes Internet satellite at 127W. The Users Manual describes the receiver setup, but how to use the EPG to set up recordings, etc, is left for the user to figure out. Nevertheless, with just one or two exceptions the software is easy to navigate, and extremely powerful. Blind scan recognized the satellite transponders automatically. The USB interface recognized the 1TB FAT32 hard disk I connected, and not only played from it, but recorded satellite programs to it. Really excellent! My only real 'complaint' is that, unlike some of its competitors, there is no ethernet network connector. just a plug-in USB dongle to connect to WiFi. I know they were building to a price, but this is really a big omission, and makes the IPTV side of the box useless to me. The FTA satellite functions are, however, excellent, making this a really excellent way to get into FTA satellite TV.

Have both the Premium V and X2 HD Mini. Premium V runs cooler then the X2 HD Mini.Fast blind scan. The most common tuner on the market right now. Few C band skip videothis is more of a tuner issue or dish size with the coding coming out of the sky.This box is not for stealing paid satellite. It is for FTA, free to air.Lots of good stuff comes on FTA if you can put up a 10 foot C band or 1 meter KU dish.Menu is great. Able to adjust many things to try to tune in, hard to getsatellites. This box is rock solid and makes me too when tuning in channels!

Needs some refinements with the firmware, but scans quickly, has good picture quality and will do 16 apsk signals. There hasn't been a firmware update that I can find so far, and the item isn't listed anymore on the manufacturer website. It works for now, and for the money it is a nice blind-scan receiver, but does miss some channels when scanning.

I was very skeptical at first by being so inexpensive and with two remotes, but this little box is well worth the money. I replaced a GeoSat mini HD receiver that went south after two years with this one. I don't know how this one will hold up, but for no more than it cost i will take a chance. I did buy a square extended warranty for this box. As with all these receivers made in China quality control is lacking. It blind scans channels fast. I don't know yet how many it might miss, but time will tell. The unit did freeze on me twice, and had to re-boot, but after just laying a small computer fan on top it runs cooler without further issues.

This is by far the easiest FTA receiver I ever setup. The satellite setup a breeze, and getting through the menu was so easy. Its fast also, and browses really quick! The EPG is also user friendly. I recommend this set and at this price, it just cant be beat. The unit is as small as an 80's Walkman.

It's very small and looks nice....but....it constantly reboots and will sometime point the dish to the wrong location (USALS). By the time I installed it and found out it has issues it was too late to return it to Amazon. I'm looking for a replacement receiver. Avoid until the manufacturer works out the bugs in this unit.
