Sea Wolf (a Compass Rose Novel, 2) Paperback – 27 July 2021

This was certainly worth the 7 week wait for a print copy. I think I enjoyed it more than Compass Rose because I was settled with the world and the characters right from the first page. It is definitely a high adrenaline page turner, yet can also be sweet and funny at times. Because the characters feel so real, I alternated between wanting to hug them or throttle them, not that I'd have much of a chance. We get to peel back a few layers and see more of the hearts behind the swagger and spikes. We are also introduced to a whole new world towards the end of the book. Rose gets some answers, but there are so many more questions. I'm assuming there is going to be a third in the series based on the ending. It isn't a cliff hanger, but there is still plenty of wide open sea to go. Bring it on.

Eek I have been waiting for this book for 2 years - I can’t believe I’ve just finished it!! I think if you enjoyed Compass Rose (book 1) then there’s no doubt you’ll like Sea Wolf. There is more Rose and her special skills, more angst, more romance, more angst (again), and more troubles at seas, but also more intrigue as the dystopian fantasy continues. I have to admit this book had me close to tears many times - and if you wanted a super happy book this probably isn’t for you - but who are you trying to kid reading a dystopian fantasy? I have read book 1 three times now (a rarity for me retreading booking) so I have no doubt I will reread this one again soon. Anna Burke and this book series are my all time favourite books without a doubt - please don’t make me wait another 2 years for the next one!?!

The characters are all strong and you can't help rooting for them all in one way or another. BMC have their faults but it's a joy watching them come to terms with their feelings for each other.I'm just hoping there's a third book. Please!!

A great next chapter in the world of Compass Rose and crew. I love the way the books are written, making it easy to envision the dystopian world Anna Burke has created. Fully recommend Anna Burke's books to those in need of a decently written saphic story that is original and exciting 😀 Hoping for another chapter in this series 🙃

This series is a masterpiece and this second book is just as thrilling as the first. I hope the series continues because I’m hooked. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

I started reading Sea Wolf and was immediately pulled back into the dystopian world that Ms Burke has created and the life of Compass Rose and Captain Stillwater. The story took me through so many emotions and I used so much adrenaline working through the life challenges that the characters went though. Nothing was easy for Rose and Miranda and the challenges facing them were difficult both personally and in the world they live in. The pages turned and real life just passed me by. I loved it.I received an ARC for an honest review.
