A heart-warming story with twists and turns.
Captivating and keeps you guessing from page one. Certain chapters are quite sad. But somewhat laugh out loud, humorous in others. Overall, a lovely book to enjoy.I have recently finished reading your book and would just like to say what a pleasure it was.It had me mesmerised from the first few pages, and I could not put it down.I found this book at the public library. Having looked at its genre and read a few pages. Knew instantly it would be my cup of tea. So, I ordered a copy on Amazon. My friend is now reading it and thinks it’s a brilliantly written book too. Milly’s writing style captures the reader almost immediately. This wonderful book is the best I have read in a long time, and I highly recommend Milly’s beautifully authored memoir. I’m going to read it again.

A gripping, candid and shocking account of life in a Catholic children's home.
At first I didn't think I was going to be able to get beyond the first few chapters. I found Milly and her sister's treatment as young children, at the hands of some of the nuns, truly shocking and difficult to read. Having grown up in Cardiff, I had heard similar accounts from other survivors of Nazareth House, so I read on. It is a beautifully written and honest book, with many twists and turns that holds the reader's attention. It is certainly a book that is hard to put down. Interspersed with stories of unbelievable cruelty are also examples of kindness from some unsurprising people. However, at the end I was left with a burning sense of injustice that nobody has been held to account for the cruel and inhumane treatment of so many vulnerable children in this home, all of whom had had their childhoods stolen. The fact that this was happening as late as the 1970s, without challenge, is hard to comprehend. I would strongly recommend this book. You may experiencel a sense of helplessness but you won't be disappointed.

Amazingly beautiful and touching story
I came across the author of this book whilst holidaying in zakynthos last October 2021. He asked if we'd do him the honour of downloading his book and rating it for him. Well I'm on holiday again now in Crete this time and I've got round to reading Milly. It's such a good book. It kept my interest fully. It made me cry, feel anger and laugh and any book that can illicit all of those feelings will always get my vote. It's a wonderful book and I can highly recommend it. Fantastic xxx

Detailed account of Catholic Orphanage upbringing
This is a lengthy and detailed account of Milly's life which begins with her first memories of being transferred to another orphanage. We are taken through tragedies, sadness and drama, though Milly always seems to come out on top, despite the terrible background and learns to enjoy life. Won't say anymore as there's a few twists and turns in her life that you need to savour. Well worth reading, especially if you are from South Wales.

Incredible! A journey of fear, despair, resilience, powerful friendships and of course love.
An incredible insight into the sometimes evil, sometimes Saint like behaviour of nuns in a somewhat sinister institution. We’ve all heard snippets but the vivid memories of ‘Milly Nash’ really do take you on a journey through a myriad of human mechanisms, responses, successes and failures in the face of intimidation and hardship.
