Spear & Jackson4875RSS Razorsharp Steel Wood Handle Shears, Multi-Colour

Spear and Jackson is a quality name and one that I have always had confidence in when buying garden tools. I purchased these garden shears in June 2021 and within a very short time, I found that in the action of closing the shears whilst cutting grass or trimming shrubs, the 'stop' (as in the photo) failed to work allowing the blades to cross over each other. The 'stop' should have prevented this but the metal sides 'rode over each other' in so doing, allowing the shear blades to cross over. I would have expected better from S&J. Yes the shears were light, easy to handle and sharp but are more or less useless when with every other cut, the blades cross over and you have to stop and correct the fault.

The shears are beautifully made from top materials.Especially worth mentioning are the handles, the action and the blades, so sharp that they easily went through any number of troublesome hawthorn stems during their first job, a major weeding.Highly recommended.

These are excellent shears, they have a wooden handle which makes them comfortable when being used. The sharpness is incredible so that the work is done in half the time. I would highly recommend these shears and the rest of the Spear & Jackson products I purchased at the same time.
