From my understanding there are two forms of minerals: organic and inorganic. Inorganic minerals are not bound with other minerals. An example of an inorganic form is lead found in a rock. Organic forms of lead are found in vegetables. They are bound to other minerals and it produces a positive charge (which may pull lead out of the body). Whereas, inorganic lead has a negative charge and accumulates in the body.The type of lead in bentonite clay is the good kind.

We have had a lot of questions regarding the lead warning on the prop 65 warning label for Uncle Harry's toothpaste. The amount of lead that is naturally occurring in the bentonite clay which is the base of the toothpaste is a small fraction of what is found in organically grown vegetables or the soil that organic vegetables are grown in. Additionally these naturally occurring minerals are not bio available to accumulate in the body. Here is the response that Uncle Harry's has been sending out to their customers: Thank you for contacting Uncle Harry's! We are required by law to apply Proposition 65 labels to products containing bentonite clay which are sold in the state of California. This includes all flavors of Uncle Harry's toothpaste. It contains approximately 9 ppm of lead. This means that per brushing there is approximately 0.000000191 ounces of lead, or 5.4 micrograms. What is Proposition 65? The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known as Proposition 65, was passed to allow California voters to make more informed decisions about their exposure to toxic chemicals. Prop 65 warnings are only required under California law. Prop 65 toxicity guidelines apply to industrial metals and runoff, in addition to naturally occurring minerals, fruits, vegetables, and other earth substances. Why is Bentonite Clay used? Bentonite clay provides an impressive assortment of minerals including magnesium, potassium, iron, manganese, calcium, and silica, in addition to an assortment of rare trace minerals. It makes an excellent cleanser for the teeth. Which Uncle Harry’s products have these warning labels? Is this the real Uncle Harry's??

Somethings different with this Uncle Harry's. The one in the picture has the original packaging and face and that worked well, but the new one looks like a rip off remake. The guy doesn't even look the same. The toothpaste is lighter and although so far I don't feel too bad about it, I am skeptical of the quality. My soft toothbrush bristles harden up with the recent ones I received and it makes me wonder what they added to this toothpaste. Too bad I got four tubs of this now...I hope someone can set my mind at ease that they did in fact change the guys face to someone who looks completely different from the original guy but it is still the same product....very fishy
