My need was not for cutting vegetables or aiding in the making of bread like most reviews but for cleaning my cutting board of vegetable trim and helping in picking up cut vegetables to bowls and such. This product fits this need to a T. It's stainless steel which won't rust, heavy enough gage metal that still has a bit of flex for easy puck up of my cut vegetables. You could still use it for cutting if you wanted I suppose but I have invested in high quality expensive knives for this purpose. It does have a measuring scale on the front face of it but I found it very hard to read Could just be my elderly eyesight but I didn't buy this for the measuring scale. It's perfect for what I needed it for and sits under my cutting board out of the way when not needed.i can tell it will last me a long time. If you need a kitchen tool to help with cleaning off and clearing your cutting board of vegetable waste and finished cuts without the need to use your chefs knife to pick up cut vegetables which could save the edge and lower the risk of a cut then this maybe just what you need.
