That Can Be Arranged: A Muslim Love Story

I was so excited to get it because I've been following the artist on Insta but never got round to buying the book. It's such a precious tale and it's really presents this aspect of my culture really well including the pressures. I can't wait to order her other work.

So lovely and funny! An illustrated story on soulmates who met despite old age (subjective ahah), meddlesome chaperones, and differences in Pokemon opinions (most times, that's a deal breaker). An incredibly awesome backstage view of Muslim dating scene and marriage. A must read for all nerds, and regular people too!

I loved reading this book! the story is funny, sweet and authentic while surfacing "normal" teenage angst and dreams. In this sense, Huda's story is highly relatable for non-Muslims as well as Muslims. My favorite aspect of the book is this idea of connectedness and shared emotions we experience as humans in pursuit of life partners. It may be surprising for non-Muslims to realize that young, modern, American Muslims follow these courting and marriage traditions quite happily and by choice -- (after a fairly typical early teenage kick-back and questioning :)). It's not easy to be vulnerable and open and funny at the same time. Huda does an amazing job of skillfully sharing treasured traditions. A work to be proud of! Waiting for the next book.....

Sie ist dermaßen liebenswürdig, witzig und nerdy. <3 Das Buch ist autobiografisch, langjährige Fans kennen die Rohfassung der Geschichte und die meisten der schrulligen Charaktere. Hudas Mutter ist der Kracher! Absolut charmant und gewitzt erzählt uns Ms Huda Fahmy ihren Werdegang, ihren Weg zur Frau voller Selbstwertgefühl - Achtung: Lektionen in Selbstliebe zum Nachmachen und Weiterführen! - und gibt obendrein sogar sehr liebevolle, universelle Beziehungstipps.
