Good for the price
Good set of sharpening stones. I used to work in a butcher shop so using sharpening stones was second nature to me. Then the V sharpeners took over the world. Convenient but I noticed all my knife edges were rough and some lost all their edge altogether. I bought these and was able to successfully restore 4 of my 5 knives that I have had for 20 years. They are smaller than the ones I used way back when, but once you get used to it they're fine. Also nice to have a true whetstone and not have to bother with the mineral oil.

Good Value. Useful item for common blade sharpening activities
Nice Kit to get started. Everything you need. This is my first use of this type of product. Good range of stones to perform basic sharping for a variety of knives and blade conditions. Plenty of on-line videos to help you get started and learn techniques. Provides the ability to sharpen knives effectively back to like new performance . I'm very happy with the value and performance of this product.

Well packaged
Nice base, works great for knives only. Don’t drop the stones

Quality, not for biginners
This is (I think) intended for experience knife sharpeners who have extensive expertise. But that’s just my opinion. It’s easy to make mistakes when hand sharpening your knifes, and if you’re using this kit you surely have expensive knifes. All that being said, I feel this is one of the better kits sold at Amz. I use this (with 30 years experience) on my $100, and $150 knifes becouse I want the best edge , I like this kit a lot.

Top quality for a great price!
I've found uses for these throughout my house and I pull them back out of the box when things start getting dull again. Chisels, blades on a thickness planer, kitchen knives, you name it and they are still in top shape! The double sided blocks are very helpful with cutting down time. The angle guide was helpful to show me the right angle at first and I've gotten to where I don't need it now. Every piece in the package served a great purpose even the box itself! I continue to use the box that it came in for storage.

Takes a while, but works
At first, I had to return the first package that I received thinking that it was missing the gloves. After reading the product page, however, I noticed that it does not come with gloves. The second package arrived and I got to test out what I learned of knife sharpening. It didn’t take long for the bubble to disappear after soaking the whetstones, but I still soaked them for the recommended 10 minutes. Using the 400 grit side, I had wanted to remove some chips and kinks in a few of my kitchen knives. It took a lot longer than what I had anticipated and I couldn’t feel any of the burrs that were supposed to form. There was a lot of mud that formed which might be the reason why. However, upon using the 3000 grit (green side) to polish and remove some of the burr I noticed a few pieces of it left on the whetstone which is unusual for me. Lastly, I used the leather stop to remove the remaining burr that may be left on the knives. The only thing that I think is bad is the fact that the 400 grit (blue side) had some inconsistency to it that got a bit larger the more I used the stone.
