Works perfectly. Worth the price!
Looking at lots of positive reviews about Kato's products, I bought this one as my first diesel locomotive. It works very smoothly at crawl speeds and has a great deal of detail on the trucks and the shell. Since this locomotive is DCC ready, I can convert it anytime to a DCC locomotive by dropping in an appropriate decoder.

Great locomotive for 11 Car CZ set
I bought a pair (Silver Speed and Silver Pilot) early this year along with the 11 Car California Zephyr Set. I really enjoy the attention to details and the silky operation at any velocity. Its also DCC ready for when I decide to switch to DCC.
